With engine OFF: Use a carburator spray to clean the linkage, flap, etc., and "work" them.

With engine ON: Spray short squirts directly into carb while increasing / decreasing the throttle. Do not allow engine to die while spraying. (just start it again, no problem).

Any auto supply store will have it ($6 ~ $8) name brand, not store brand. You might want to also use a "complete fuel system" cleaner ($8). Pour 12oz into gas tank next fill-up.

Either the flap is sticking, or the vacuum controlled acutator that moves it is fualty or leaking air.

Low idle below 1000 rpms dies then i have to restart periodic

It could be a software problem has set the idle too low or there could be a minor engine fault, blocked breather maybe or sticky egr valve.

Often this sort of problem is caused by a sticking idle air control valve or blocked or partially blocked air ports.
A can of carburettor cleaner can be used along with a stiff paintbrush and a compressed airline to clean around the throttle butterfly, the breather ports and idle control valve; removing parts as required.

Keeps stalling. How can we keep it running? Carburetor problems?

On most carburettor vehicles, there is an electric idle jet. If it is faulty or if the connection has come loose, the car won't idle. Check wires going to the carburettor and you should find it. Hold your ear near the carb and get someone to switch the car on & off, you should hear a click. If not, make sure of a good connection else replace the electric jet. Hope this helps

1996 4.3 wont start untin you prime with gas then it runs great

4.3 what make? Priming with gas does what the choke should be doing, so my guess is that the choking system does not work.
Does your car have a carburettor or does it have fuel injection? There are 2 kinds of injection - via injectors or via manifold. These usually don't give hassles unless there is a problem with the temperature sensor.
If your car has a carburettor, it could be the automatic choke is not working properly. This is the little round gizmo attached to the side of the carb secured with a ring and three screws.
Take off the air cleaner, look into the venturi and take note of the position of the choke butterfly valve - that's the one mounted on a shaft that goes into the middle of the auto choke unit.
With the three screws loosened, not removed, slowly turn the outer cap and see what the butterfly does. Do this while the engine is cold. The butterfly should be just closed, maybe slightly on the open side. Now tighten the three screws on the pinch ring and that should fix your problem.
The auto choke has a bimetal spring inside that round plasticky thing that operates the choke butterfly. As hot gases from the exhaust heats up the spring, it opens the choke. Check that this spring, situated inside the round gizmo, is not broken.
Hope this helps.

Where is the throttle on a 95 ford econoline. Someone said it is on the accelarator?

start with your right foot.the accelerator pedal, attached to the throttle cable.attached to the throttle body attached to a butterfly valve inside the throttle body(of a carburettor)it is a tube of say 2"slimming down to 1.1/2" widening to 2"with the thinest part housing a fuel jet,and it is this tunnel effect that causes a rapid flow of air that mixes fuel in the inlet manifold.attached to the cylinder head etcetera
any help?

Weber carburettor problem on 1971 Ford Cortina

it has a choke plate used for cold starting
if it has 2 throats ( venturis ) then the second throat butterfly is most likely vacuum operated in which case the diaphragm for the operation will be faulty
I suggest that you take it to an accredited shop that overhauls carbies , and firstly have the manual choke fitted then have the unit overhauled
