You will definately have to drop the tank. Remove gas cap to relieve pressure, then remove gas lines, gas straps, remove bolts, lower tank. Use only a BRASS punch and hammer and knock ring loose counter clockwise, then pump and sending unit will pull out. and you can disconnect and change your pump.

Is there a way to cut an access panel on a 98 Mazda 626 to the fuel pump so I don't have to drop the fuel tank?

There is a way of gaining access without cutting the floor. You remove the back seat and there are four bolts under the mat if you remove them and lift the fastened cover you will see another cover which has some pipes and electrical socket connector fastenned with small philips screws, if you disconnect the socket , remove the screws and the pipes then lift the unit that is where the fuel pump and the fuel gauge is fitted.

Where is the fuelpump on 1998 mazda 626, well i jyst want to replace my fuelpump because it went out, i all ready replace the relay

the fuel pump is located in the fuel tank. It is usually changed out by removing the fuel tank, but can sometimes be reached by removing the back seat. taking the back seat out is usually worth the effort even if it isn't how to get to the fuel pump as if you are correct it can save you about 2 hours worth of time.

How do I replace a fuel pump on a 2002 Mazda 626?

first of all the fuel pump is in the gas tank and you have to get the car on ramps and then lower the gas tank and remove the center ring on the tank to get the fuel pump out.try these websites and if all fails stop by your local library and get you hands on a Haynes auto repair manual for your car. wish you the best of luck Michigan Man.

Where is the fuel tank pressure sensor located on a 2000 mazda 626?

usually the sensors are incorporated into the in-tank fuel pump. to get to that, take out the back seat and there is a panel on the floor seat there wherein you can access the tank and the pump.
