To replace it i cut the old belt off saves time,a belt winding diagram sticker if still there should be under your engine bay somewheres,if not make note of it u draw it take a picture.it can be confusing if you dont get the diagram rite.Theres a spring loaded idelar arm that keeps tension on the belt you will have to put a wrench on it to losten it up putting thr new belt on two people come in handy here put belt on as on diagram or yours and relesase the idelar arm slowly it should be very tight after that.

Should just be the serpentine belt and then the alternator, it is a little tight to work area wise.

Alternator light on and coolant temp hot


Sound like a uncharging battery (alternator light) or some mis-adjust belt around water pump (temp hot) and alternator pulley, is rare the two problems together are related, but not impossible. CHeck belt adjust and electrical circuits.

Yesterday my car's Battery sign shows up hile driving, when I check there was crack in the radiator's upper plastic cover about 4 inches and also accelrator belt broke, so question should I fix...


First, if the radiator is not leaking you don't need to do anything to it. Most of the time the plastic cover is so that people don't get burnt by the hot metal radiator.

I think you mean the alternator belt, not the accelrator belt. You can replace it yourself, by loosening the bolts holding it tight and then sliding the alternator towards the center of the engine. Then put the belt on and using something long and straight move the alternator to the outside of the engine and the alternator belt is very tight. Then tighten the bolts. Make sure that it didn't slip while tightening them and then start the car and make sure that the belt is tight and not wobbling.

First Problem-I replaced the serpentine belt because the old one was getting teared up on the edges,but now there is a loud noise I think is coming from the alternator,and the alternator gets hot and there...


Your alternator is getting hot and tearing the belt apart. The bearings in your alternator must be freezing up/worn out. Replace the alternator. You may need a new belt as well if you ran it this way for a while. As far as the onboard computer not being on the right setting, this should not be the case, unless you have an aftermarket, programmable computer. Other than that, your ECM should be fine if the vehicle runs. Start by installing a new alternator. Just last week I fixed a vehicle where the alternator was overheating, and black dust was surrounding the alternator by the pulley. This is due to worn out bearings. Sounds like the belt is slipping and the battery ligt comes on, can this be due to alternater bearing failure? The car continues to start for now


If it is alternator bearing failure you will hear a very high pitched whine from the alternator as it is revved, furthermore it would not usually cause loss of charging until it was nearly wrecked.
It is more likely to be belt failure. Replace and correctly tension the belt first.

I have an issue with with my alternator belt shreading and having to get a new battery every 3-5 months after the original alternator has been replaced.


ALTERNATOR DRIVE BELT TENSION COULD BE LOOSE WHERE BELT IS SLIPPING CAUSING BELT TO GET TOO HOT BURNING CAUSING BELT SHREADING ALSO CAUSING POOR BATTERY CHARGING CONDITIONS.HAVE THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP ADJUST ALTERNATOR BELT TENSION.

Belts squealing


is your belt slipping? You may have a bad tensioner pulley. Check all pulleys make sure they will spin and not lock up, if they feel really tight or after rotating them around several times they get tight replace

Does the serpentine belt need somekind of lubricant?


Belt is getting hot, because it might be loose or one of the components (AC, water pump, alternator etc) has trouble with rotation (getting stuck). In most common case it is alternator.
If you are handy with that you need to remove the belt and rotate the alternator, water pump, ac pulleys and see which one has problem with rotation. Also you can check for free at Autozone if alternator giving enough charge.

Libricants are prohibited to use, belt will be slippering and wont rotate the pulleys for AC, water pump, alternator.

For tension serpentine belt can be checked by twisting it, it should not twist more then 90 degree, or by pushing, no more the 1/4 inch freedom then you push it
