Chances are, when the oil pressure gauge is acting up, it is the oil pressure switch. When this goes, it can cause the gauge to work incorrectly and the oil lamp to illuminate on the dash. It could also be the oil pump, but I would check the switch out beforehand as it is most likely the cause and will save you the trouble of getting a new pump.

Oil pressure on my 1996 Dodge Ram pickup is running low even though my oil level is fine

have the oil pressure checked with an independent gage as sometimes gages in the dash don`t show correct pressure. how long has it been since the oil was changed as oil when it gets dirty it thins out and can affect oil pressure. if you don`t hear any ticking with the motor running chances are the pressure is either good or just a little low. testing oil pressure with an independent gage will tell the tale.

I just had my oil sender replaced because of a oil leak. My oil pressure gage shows 29 idling up to 65 while driving at 40 miles an hour. What is the oil pressure supposed to be in a 2000 Buick LaSabre?

30 is ideal for idling im my car at around 35mph its at 60psi just depends on how condition of the oil pump and rod/main bearing if there worn out u will have lower presser.

1989 Dodge Ram 250 with 318 motor, oil pressure gage has quit working, engine oil is at proper level, someone said that there is some kind of an oil service switch that my need replaced.

you have an oil pressure sending unit located at rear of engine next to distributor. that would cause the oil gauge not to work. also look for a short in electrical wires to oil sending unit. hope this will help!!!

94 ford probe,speedometor,oil gage,odometer not working

You need to pull the dash and check the guages look for any burning or melting. You may just need to replace the pannel in your dash, pretty easy work. If not start checking the wires and cables that come out of your faulty guages.

The temp gage and the oil presser gage dont work on my 1990 wrang

Normally it's on the thermostat housing at the front of the engine.(I have also seen some models with a second sensor on the l/r of the cylinder head) but the therm housing is best bet!!!
