Car CD Players get dusty from road grime. Buy a CD Cleaning Disc and run it is a couple of times. The laser that reads the tracks is much lower power, and if it can't read the whole tracking system, it ejects the CD. The cleaning disc has little brushes that cleans the optic lenses.
These navigation disks are prone to contamination from dust particles over the years. If the disk is not damaged (scratched), you can try gently cleaning it to see if that works. You can also try a special lens cleaning disc to clear any dust from the reader.
However, if you have you followed all the owners manual instructions for removing it and it won't, you have a much more serious problem with the system. All I can suggest is a trip to a dealer to see if they can help.
You listed this in the auto section, so I'm not sure just where you have the problem. When you receive an error like this and you've tried several disks with the same result it means your CD player is bad and must be replaced.
Hi the message you are getting is telling you that either the laser lense is dirty so buying a cd lense cleaning kit would clean the lense for you or it could mean the laser has packed up and would need replacing.
Make sure the dvd your putting in is not scratched, try blowing into the dvd slot to remove any dust, failing that you need to buy a lense cleaning cd you can get these from most computer stores then run this in your dvd player then give it a try it may solve the problem. If it dont then the problem is going to be with the laser itself and then you would need to work out wether the cost of repair was worth doing compared to replacing the dvd player.
let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok
Are you using burned discs. If so try burning them at the slowest speed available on your computer, usually about 8x. If your using standard store bought CD's then you might have a lens issue. Try purchasing one of those lense cleaner discs, they have a tiny brush on them that cleans the lens while it spins, they work pretty good.
Hi, this problem sounds like the lense in the cd player has got dust on it you can buy a lense cleaning kit that should solve this problem. If after doing this you still have the problem then you will find that the laser itself is no good. The problem with this is they are not cheap to replace and would cost more to repair than to replace the whole cd player. Hope this is some help to you let me know if you need further assistance
NAV unit uses a DVD disc. If its a copy, it may or may not work. I suggest you remove the NAV disc, unplug the NAV unit from power for 4-5 minutes, reconnect the NAV and try inserting the disc again to see if it reads. If it still does not read, another NAV disc needs to be inserted to verify its not a "bad" NAV DVD disc issue. If it still cannot read the second disc, the NAV unit is bad. The handbook feature needs the disc inserted in the slot 1 of the CD changer unit.
You can purchase the manual from the dealer. You need the disc for the nav system to program it. Another is you may need to have a code to operate the nav. Did you press the mode button to go from radio to cd? Try to detach the negative battery or press the reset button to factory default, this will bring you back to the factory settings. It looks like a small hole on the radio face. You must use a fine point to push it in and reset it. Is a cd stuck inside of the cd slot? Do all your trouble shooting first and you will find your answer......runjoe
Here's my suggestion,
Take it in to your GM Dealer, there maybe a couple of options depending on what has been done so far.
If They can not get the disc out & depending on the DVD/Cd player-NAV's part no. The Dealer may be able to Update the Software allowing the disc to be ejected properly.
Or the player will need to be pulled out and sent to an autherize repair center.
