Yes a short somewhere But where?
A battery should hold lights on for a while and not go flat but then what size battery have you got and how much dose it charge when driving as it should hold 12 volts and when running it should charge at 13.5 volts no more ,,,But a short in the lights weather Head/or/Parking lights would burn out the wire ,blow fuse every time you turn on lights.....

My 2001 Mazda tribute is having trouble cranking I will turn switch and it just turns over like I tries to crank but won't. But If I leAve it in the on postion for a minute it will crank so confused on...

sounds like the battery is not holding a good charge. first get the battery checked out. if its good then then make that all required ground location for your tribute are good and not corroded and/or broken. if any grounds are not to your liking, repair and/or replace accordingly.

Need to know what fuse to replace for cruise control on 2004 mazda tribute

The first things to check is make sure all your fuses are good a teslight is a great tool for this, check out after checking fuses next is to open the hood and check the connection to cruise head andd then make sure the cable from the cruise to throtlebody is connected, this is where i would start,if the fuses are good and the connection is good and the unit is connected to throtle linkage then i would check the switch and the cruise stop switch which is located on the brake pedal braket and sometimes runs off brake light switch, hope this helps. good luck.

Probably a loose wire on the battery terminals. Otherwise corrosion on the battery terminals or your alternator is starting to go bad.,
