Question about Kia Sedona

1 Answer

My kia sedona 2004 is making a noise when we start to drive more than 30 miles per hr. some people say it's the transmission. When u put in drive and press the gas pedal it feels like jerking. Feels like the transmission don't want to go into the next gear.

Yes its the auto matic g/box and get someone to check the oil level and the colour of oil should be Red and clean if brown then take to the auto trans people and get it serviced,as the foward bands either need adjusting or replacing.

Trans oil in radiator ? --is a failed trans cooler & will need a new radiator & transmission rebuilt

Coolant in the motor oil ---is a leaking intake or head gasket

I wouldn't drive it

on the trans first, install it on the shaft and rotate it while pushing in , you should hear or feel it lock in place

My 2004 Kia Sedona make a grinding noise when I put it in gear. The Trans fluid show full. What do you think is the problem?

Something in the transmission is probably not right. Sounds like a small gear has stripped and is trying to go ahead and go into gear, or the gear is chipped and is making that sound because it is chipped and not going into the other gear as smoothly as it should. I would take it to a transmission shop where ever you live and get it checked out. That's one thing about automatic transmissions, they have to be worked on by a transmission specialist nowadays. Try that and let me know what you found out.

Acceleration - cannot get above 40 miles per hr.

If the engine revs up while in drive and running at 40mph, your transmission is probably slipping. Try checking your transmission fluid level. If it is OK, I would get it by a garage to have them look at it to cofirm.
