Question about 1998 Ford Expedition
My guess would be the valves might need adjusting if it tapping fairly loud. Its common to high mileage vehicle and don't recommend driving the car too long with the noise. low oil pressure can also cause valves to tap due to lack of oil lubrication. you can hear the diffrences between the valves tapping VS engine knocking from low octane. take to any shop any good mechanics can tell you right of the bat which one it is and wont cause you a penny. hope that help some
