Only hot air from my 2005 chevrolet avalanche

Changed the main battery on my 2005 chevrolet avalanche 1500. Now the HVAC only blows very hot air when turned on. Temp selected to 70, AUTO mode. The compressor still works, return line is cold, HVAC fuse is OK. I'm stumped!

I disconnected the battery for 10 minutes then reconnected the battery. I started the engine then immediately shut off the climate control, the engine still running. After ten minutes I turned the climate control on, everything works okay.

One of two things has happened. Either your coolant has gotten really low (easy enough to check) or you heater core is starting to plug up.

AC blowing hot air one side & cool air other side

If it has dual zone temp. control it is most likely the heater control panel.

My 2005 suburban AC is blowing hot air; one minute it was blowing out cool air and then it started blowing as if the heat was on....

If you touched any of the A/C controls within 45 seconds of starting your Suburban (after the battery change), you messed up the 'calibration mode' of the HVAC.

Pull the HVAC fuse (10amp) under the hood, and pull the two adjacent fuses (30 and 10amp) under the dash listed as 'climate control' in the manual.

Push the fuses back in, restart your car, but DONT TOUCH ANY of the A/C controls for 90 seconds.

I bet the A/C starts working again normally.

Heater issue, driver side of 2004 Chevy Avalanche

1. Place the ignition switch in the off position.
2. Remove the HVAC/ECAS fuse for 10 seconds or more. It's in the under hood fuse box. Put the temp in full cold.
3. Install the fuse.
4. Start the engine. DO NOT TOUCH THE HVAC CONTROLS FOR LESS THAN 45 SECONDS.
5. Have any codes cleared with a scan tool.

2005 chevy 2500hd duramax driver side vents blow hot air

It sounds like the HVAC head needs to be recalibrated, most likely when you unhooked the battteries you lost the memory to the control head, it's in a default position/state.
