Same here! ABS & oil lights come on, tachometer stops & no AC

I'm embarrassed to say this started happening in my 1999 Volkswagen Passat V8 last year. The ABS light comes on, as does the the oil icon, and it beeps three times (LOUDLY). Also, the tachometer stops functioning. If my AC is on when this happens, it stops cooling. In my car this seems to occur randomly. I took it to my mechanic and he ran a diagnostic and couldn't find anything wrong. He said it must be a malfunctioning computer module (or something to that effect). He quoted me $1,500 to replace the computer module, but since he couldn't find anything wrong, he wouldn't recommend I have the work done. I'm sorry you are having this problem too. I feel a bit better knowing I'm not the only person having to deal with this.
