Am I missing something or is everyone answering the wrong question?
If I am reading this right you are having problems in your instrument cluster in your dash not being lit up on one side, correct?
If so it is most likely a burnt out bulb or two.

All instrument panel lights or just speedometer light? There are several bulbs behind instrument panel. More than likely, the bulb at speedometer is burned out, and can be replaced by removing instrument panel and replacing bulb(s). Hope this helps.

Replace check engine light bulb

You will have to remove the instrument panel, but not the whole dash. See here, p111. Note you only have to do steps 9, 10, 14 to 16, 19 to 23. When you take out the instrument panel, you will see the light in its socket on the back. It is a wedge type globe, quite easily available.

How do you change the dash lights in a 2001 acura rl.3.5

in most cases this is a blowwen fuse if not:

  • These instructions are generic and should work with most cars.

Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery of your vehicle with an open-end wrench and move the cable out of the way so that it does not fall back onto the negative terminal.

  • 2

Locate the bezel that holds the clear instrument cover in place. Remove the screws holding the bezel in place and remove it by pulling it straight up and away from the dashboard.

  • 3

If possible, lower the steering wheel until it is completely tilted downward. Remove the screws holding the instrument cluster to the panel.

  • 4

Holding the top of the instrument cluster, tilt the panel toward you until you have access to the light bulbs behind the instrumental panel.

  • 5

Locate the burned out bulb and remove it by pushing in and turning counter-clockwise to release the bulb from the socket. If the panel has multiple bulbs, consider replacing them all at once; if one is burned out, the others are likely to follow soon.

  • 6

Place a new bulb in the socket and then tilt the intrument cluster back into position, securing it with the screws.

  • 7

Tilt the steering wheel back into its normal position and place the bezel cover back in place, securing it with screws.

  • 8

Reattach the negative battery cable to the battery and then turn on the dashboard lights to verify the new bulb is working.

Most likely yes. most dash components just snap togethernow. be gentle. call the dealer for the bulbs. unlikely they are all burned out. If none work look for a bad fuse and check the head light switch.

You have to remove the instrument cluster to replace the bulbs [the bulbs go in from the backside] Not to difficult of a job but I would suggest replacing every bulb in the back while you have it out as they are all the same age and it seems that once one burns out the others aren't far behind. I don't know the bulb number but most parts stores or a GM dealer can figure out which ones you will need. The bulbs are held in by small plastic bulb holders that you push gently and turn to remove from the back of the cluster.

    Fuse Problems

Could be tail fuse, fuse block located on inside drivers side close to hood lock. Are your instrument panel lights on?If they are it's not the fuse, you know there is an adjustment switch above radio towards drivers door that adjust how dim or bright your instrument lights are.Lastly it could be a bulb that burned out under shifter casing.

1992 ford f150 instrument panel lights

most likely, some of the dash will have to be removed to access the screws securing the instrument cluster. dash pieces often "snap" in and out rather than being held in with screws. once its free, you often cannot remove it completely due to the steering wheel, rather than removing it, you can usually get the panel in a position where the bulbs can be accessed from the back. see if you can find a picture of the instrument panel from an online parts distributor, this will show you where the holes are for the securing screws. dont pull to hard once you get it free as you do not want to damage the wiring that goes to the instrument panel, many times you need to reach behind it and disconnect the harness from several places before it can be manuvered around.
