Hi, the plug is kept in place with a nut that fits on the back of the plug. You will need to take the panel out in order to get to the nut. Before you replace the plug, on the back of the plug, you should see a grayish type of washer where the power cable connection is mounted. If you take that washer out, the plug should work again.

Clock went out on my 2000 Lexus ES300. I don't see a fuse for it? Nothing else not working

There isn't a fuse. Clocks are very low voltage and ampere draw. Access the plug. Pull it and replace it(corrosion). If it starts working agian, you are good to go. Otherwise replace the clock module.

2008 nissan versa accessory plug not working

Typically with an accessory plug, there would be a few quick trouble shooting methods. First, check the fuse, if you pull off the fuse box, the diagram will show you exactly where it is. If you change the fuse, and it is still not working, physically look inside the cigarette lighter plug And make sure there is no evidence of rubbish, corrosion or burning. If there is, it is time to replace the plug.

Good luck,

My cigarette lighter doesn't work but my fuse is good and the switch is hooked up, what could be the problem?

Could be the lighter part itself that is no good, you can buy replacements at the auto parts store very cheaply. You might want to check the wires to the lighter and make sure they are tight and that there is no corrosion on the inside of the socket. You can also buy replacement sockets at the parts store. Most times there is enough corrosion that the grounds don't make contact good.

How do you repair or repair the accessory power plug in a chervolet 2500hd silverado?

First check the fuse(s) under the hood, fuse box on drivers side, location of fuses on inside of fuse box cover, if fuse is good, then check for power to the fuse (test light) make sure it is connected correctly. If all is good the you will have to replace the plug assembly there is NO repair. Make sure it is a power plug and NOT a cigarette lighter plug.

Power outlet does not work. radio/cigarette

check and make sure theres no corrosion and if possible check to make sure its plugged in .. the connector is directly behind the outlet so removal of the panel will be necessary.. if thats good the i would check for voltage at the connector if there is( which it probably will have voltage) than replace the outlet..

The cigarette lighter does not work on my 1997 Toyota Camry. Where is the fuse for the lighter?

it wil be located in the fuse box, the fuses should be listed on the box or inside the box and again in your owners manual. If you can not locate this way you will need to pull each fuse till you find the burnt fuse replacing with the same amperage fuse. Cigarette lighters can and do go bad, if you find no burnt fuses the lighter can be bad. This can be checked with any 12 volt plug accessory. Good luck.

Radio and cigarette lighter not working 1991 mercedes 190e

Spin or replace the fuse as the old aluminum fuses build up corrosion and dont work, or work on and off.

If its an after market radio check by removing unit and checking for fuses in line.

No power going to cigarette lighter in Nissan Murano '05

I troubleshot this issue and found the problem to be a defective power plug. There was no connection from the ground spade lug to the receptacle. The fix is easy. Just remove the plug, unplug the electrical connector and replace the bad unit. I found a similar one at Wal-Mart for under $6 that had a compatible electrical contact configuration.
This seems to be a design problem with the power plug. There are no visible signs of contact burn or corrosion... simply an open on the ground side of the housing.

12 Volt Cigarette Lighter / Accessory dead

Most likely just replace it. You could pull the fuse and then use a small screwdriver to try and pull the tabs inside the receiver in toward the center a little. It could be that repeated insertion and extraction of the lighter or accessory plug has bent them outward enough that they're not making sufficient contact to power what you plug in. If that doesn't work, replace it and then put the fuse back in.
