Question about Lincoln LS
My speedometer works maybe twice a week. All of the other gauges are fine
First step is to remove the speed sensor and see if debree is on it. It is nothing more than a magnet that reads pulses as a surface in the trans passes by. if it picks up too much metal it will interfere with the signal.
the second thing to worry about is if the sensor has too much metal it si probably coming from the trans.
a third problem could be with the sensor itself. If the old one is clean try replacing it. It is more often a problem with the sensor than the rest of the system.
