Question about 1999 Volkswagen Passat
I have the exact same issue with my vehicle. My power windows, locks dont work correctly and my brakes light is on. My cruise control has even stopped working. Did you ever get this fixed, Yates, or did you find a solution?

Check your fuse box for a blown fuse first.1 fuse controls power windows and locks, not 100% that it controls the brake light problem. I believe it is fuse 14, check your manual for sure. If you dont have your manual shine a flashlight on your fuses and you sometimes can tell if they are blown.
there is an actuator above your pedal that activates when you press the brakes. I have had these go out on one of my cars, difficult to replace but cheap.
If none of this works then you will have to go to the dealer because they wont tell you what the codes mean.
