2000 Dodge Grand Caravan. Leaking water. Seems

2000 Dodge Grand Caravan. Leaking water. Seems to be from a "plastic piece" that connects two hoses. It is located in front of dash just under the lip of the hood. Hoses seem to be quarter inch. The "plastic piece" comes apart - cleanly. (not sure what this is)

SOURCE: heater hose broke at firewall/hard plastic coupling/how to remove

The plastic extension on the core can be removed, only if you take the core out. It's a factory "heat shrink" deal though and I am not aware of any means of putting one back on.(dealer or radiator shop may know) If you try to run a hose directly from it, likely the clamp would get in the way.If it wasn't so hard to get it out, it would be worth experimenting with.
Good luck

Does it leak water or coolant? Big difference. If its coolant, it could be the heater core, In order to repair it, you must first find out whats leaking.
