1995 Mustang and it wont turn on or turn off all they way

Some of the older cars with ignition switches in the steering column use rods to engage a switch in the lower part of the column, usually under the dash. The key switch may have gotten worn enough to get the rods out of alignment or maybe even bent. This is a 22 year old car and things can wear. The key switch may have to be replaced.

I have a 1981 Cadillac Deville 5.7L Diesel. It was working great until about a week ago. It tries to turn over but it wont start so I know that its not a power problem. Ive tried all I can think of. I just...

Check the end leads on the ignition switch. You should be able to disconnect the housing around the steering wheel. Remove the ignition switch and check the leads. If you smell or see them burnt, replace the switch. Otherwise you need to take a look the carb. Most times, it has a problem recieving fuel, which causes it to "try" to turn over but doesn't allow it to start.

99 SATURN SC1 WONT START

Hi! Pancho,
Looking at the brief outline of your problem it may be due to ignition switch failure? You obviously seem a competant Mechanic by all the jobs you have done already?
Have you tried Hot wiring the starter? (Take a insulated live+ wire from the battery and flash the solenoid)
Or if it is easier remove the block from behind the ignition switch and hot wire from there as I think it is this that's the fault.
A common problem on Vw's you twist the key all the way but the starter connection doesn't make so the solenoid on the starter doesn't get power.
Hope this FixYa'Z problem!

My car has been broke into and they messed up my ignition

put you key near the ignition switch the key has a passive antitheft chip in it and the car senses it isnt there so it wont stay running the pcm detects it is being stolen so it shuts down. if the key is near the pick up it should read the key as being there
