If the fuses and bulbs are ok, check the brake light switch, it's under the dash, near the top of the brake pedal. Press down on brake pedal and see if the button isn't stck in, if it is, tap on it, it should pop out.
The switch could also be bad.

How to replace brake light switch myself

The break switch is right at the break peddle, when you press the break peddle it pushes a small pin on the switch to make the break lights to turn on. Hope this helps you.

Bleeding brakes 2005 equinox

Lots of air in system. Close valve, helper depresses peddle, open and close valve to extract air - fluid without lifting peddle. With valve closed lift and depress peddle again. Repeat process many times until clear and steady while watching master cyl fluid level never gets lower than 1/3. Having the fluid extraction hose in a clear container immersed in fluid will aid in seeing air bubbles.

Red brake light stays on

Many cars have a switch that rests on the arm for the brake peddle that self adjusts. If something gets stuck between the switch and the peddle it can adjust the switch too far way from the peddle arm. When the object that got in the way falls out or is removed the switch will no longer contact the peddle arm and the brake lights will stay on. You would probably need to remove the panel cover for the bottom of the dashboard to access the brake peddle are and brake light switch. Once you see the switch depress the peddle with your hand and push the switch toward the peddle are. It shouldn't be too hard to push back into place and will probably make a series of clicks as it moves. Once the switch has been pushed in release the brake peddle and the switch will adjust itself back to where it should be.

2007 chevy silverado brake lights dont work but the one above bed and blinkers and tail lights do work

I had the same problem! I used a piece of wood to keep the break pedal depressed and then started to remove one of the break lamps and to my surprise it came on! Same thing on the other side. So I did not seat (bottom out) the lamps in their sockets and both break light are now working properly. I had a similar issue last spring but that time only one light was out. I put in a new bulb and it still did not work so I messed around with it a little more and it started working. Never did figure it out until now. Hope this helps!

There is an air leak under the dash and it ties in with the brake pedal

It is a defective brake booster. When the internal diaphram of the brake booster develops cracks or pinholes from age, the crankcase vacume pulls air through the defective break booster diaphram from the air intake valve located on the rod connected to the brake peddle. At first the air leak sound my change or even go away when the brake peddle is depressed. But over time the booster diaphram will detierorieate to the point where the air leak sound will be contiuious. This is a problem that should be addressed ASAP as a defective break booster reduces the power assist to the break peddle and may make it difficult to apply enough break pressure to stop in an emergency situation.
Have the brakes checked by a certfied brake shop right away.

Can't get car out of park!!

This may seem like a silly solution but it's worth a try if it gets you out of this jam. I believe the Kia has a safety feature where it won't let you shift the car out of park unless the break peddle is fully depressed. Try stomping on the break peddle while you start the car. Then see if it will let you shift out of park. If this doesn't work try pumping the break peddle a few times and try it again. If this doesn't work check the fuse box. Maybe the fuse for the actuator in the gear shift lever that lets you take it out of park is burnt out. I hope this helps you out.
