This is caused by a simple problem This engine has two fuel pumps the one on the side of the block wears out and does not pump enough fuel into the main fuel pump causing it to lose power so replace the fuel pump on the side of the block First. this should cure the problem assuming the engine is in good mechanical condition.

Testimonial: "that is the problem because the engine is in good conditions and Idid check the turbo and it's no laeking and the electric transfer fuel pump it's no"

You can check the transfer pump by pulling it out and using a vacuum Gage to test it but it's $30.00 so I would replace it anyway, And I am assuming that changed the fuel filter. Also be aware you could have a crack in the fuel line that could cause a problem but my experience has been the secondary pump. Let me know how it turns out. I had a customer that had your car and he took it to a shop and they replaced the high pressure pump and it still didn't run well and it was under warranty so he brought to me and I tested the system and found the bad pump, took it for a road test and it was a hauler. when he got the truck back I made him road test it before he paid me, when he came back he said it had not ran that good even new os he paid my $65.00 bill and gave me a $100.00 tip, I tried turning it down but he would not hear of it. So keep me informed of how it turns out.

Gelled fuel, plugged fuel filter, clogged air filter, bad injectors, take it to a good diesel repair shop for a ride along with a tech.

How do i change the fuel filter on a 1992 Ford F 250 7.3 Liter diesel.

fuel filter problems come in slowly as in loss of power. It it just died and will not start I would be looking elsewhere for the problem. A good place to start would be the fault codes to check for cam/crank position sensor faults, immobiliser operation, timing belt condition. If you ran the fuel too low it may have air in the system that will have to be bled out. Best have an accredited diesel shop specialist look at it.

1991 f 350 wont stay running7.3 deisel new injecters new glow plugs new fuel filter have to put gas on a rag and cover intake starts but u put into gear and dies

Many things to check. Wonder if this work was done to alleviate problem or problem was from doing the work.

Putting gas fumes in a 21:1 compression cylinder is sure way to ruin engine.

2 possible problems are losing your diesel fuel draw from an air leak in the fuel lines and an inoperative glow plug timer.

When you change a fuel filter you lose the vacuum lock that is in the fuel lines. Some mechanics add fuel to the new filter to remove some of the air and promote fuel draw. The O rings on the injector lines are a special type which resists petroleum products. Using cheap O rings will cause problems.

Glow plug timer-there is a power Relay to the timer and the timer itself is a type of Relay. You should hear clicking noise and lights should dim as timer provides power to the glow plugs.

Other things to check would be the Vacuum pump as Diesels work differently than gas engines and require a pump to supply Vacuum. Covering the intake suggests engine needs a Vacuum draw.

Weak fuel pump. Too weak to pressurize or draw fuel. Can be measured with pressure gauges.

Really bad rings could also cause symptoms.

Would be interested knowing what proved to be wrong.

Have someone retime the engine. In a diesel it means to time the injection pump. You may have wear in the timing chain or gears. But the fuel ratio can be made rich or lean by when the fuel hits the cylinder.

Try that first as it is cheaper. You can have worn injectors and adding a cleaner will make the fuel run through faster. Possibly spray a little better, but it will not make the fuel nozzles any tighter.

My 84 ford f250 6.9 diesel. Starts and then dies and wont start.

could have a bad fuel transfer pump ( block mounted) or air getting into fuel system. This could be caused by a pin hole in the fuel lines ( supply or return) have someone crank it over for you while you press the shrader valeve on the fuel filter housing , see if you are getting fuel or air. Could also be an injection pump problem. Best thing would be to have it checked by a qualified diesel mechanic, as this could be caused by many different things. Kinda costly to throw parts at it on a guess without proper testing
