Sounds like your IAC. Easy enough to replace. Detailed procedure found at a site called Focus Fanatics.

When i go out to start my ford focus tdci 2006,sometimes my engine system fault comes on,i leave it for 5 minutes and it starts, when i drive off the revs go to idle.

There are well over 800 possible trouble codes. The only way to know what's causing your system fault is to get the trouble codes read. That's always the starting point. Asking us to guess without giving us the code really doesn't work

I have a 51 Focus. My speedo has developed a habit of occasionally reading no speed or sometimes too fast and generally being erratic. Sometimes this is accompanied by the odometer going blank but not...

Your problems sound like they are electrical, i would suggest you take it to an electrician and have them identify the problem, it most likely is not the speedometer as all that does is just output the speed, the speed sensor might be one thing you can look at.

On my 1998 ford focus, the revs seem pretty low when it ticks over. under braking the revs drop even lower, sometimes to the point where it cuts out. Any ideas ?

You have described a concern where as the idle air control valve has fialed or there is a vacuum leak in the PCV hose causing a lean condition.

My ford focus zetec 1.8 keeps over revving when coming to a slow stop, sometimes it goes upto 3000 revs, and sometimes when i come to a stop the rev counter keeps going up and down, and it as cut out...

Hi I an Vortash there are a few things that can cause this ... Air at the inlet manifold caused by a faulty gasket ?.... Air leak in the Brake servo causing loss of Inlet vacum ( this would be noticeable with the fact that brakes would be a little spongy but not always and sometimes the engine revs increase when you put the brakes on when staionary ) Faulty throttle cable ... faulty throttle sensor .. best way to find out is to have the car checked out on a Krypton tune machine ( or equvalent ) to determine the fault otherwise you could spend out on un nesscasary parts .. at least the machine would pinpoint it for you .. It is always adviseable if you do your own repairs to get hold of a Haynes manual for your vehicle it will tell you all the best ways of treating most of your cars problems cheaply and efficiently hope this helps Regards Vortash

When focus 2006 is hot the revs go up and down and

There is a fuel control module on the side of the throttle body / intake manafold, if this is the first time you have had thisa problem you can take it off and spray throtle body cleaner into it to clean it up and put it back on, it tends to build up with carbon. it will be mounted on the side with two bolts and will have a solenoid on it with usuall two or three wires in a harness conected to it. It plugs with carbon and will tend to stick and eventually stop.

Ford tick over problem

The battery could be slightly weak, making the computer go on the fritz, try a fresh battery!!!! The rev counters bounce often with a weak battery.

Leave feedback good or bad.
