Question about 2006 Dodge Ram 2500
I havent tried this on newer dodges but on the older ones you could cycle the key and just count the flasshes of the check engine light....
to do this turn key on, off, on , off, on and start counting you will have pausses betwwent flashes some longer then others this is when the next number begins .... you will get a 2 digit code then a longer pause to start next number

Probably not if the diagostic port is not communicating with a scan tool you may have a power feed problem to the port. I have seen this several times when a fuse is blown that supplies power to the port. It has even been known to turn the check engine light on just bc the fuse was out.
