Visit the website and register the vehicle information. It doesn't cost anything and you will gain access to an online repair manual. The information on the braking system should be available for you there. The manual is a very handy resource for anyone doing their own automotive maintenance. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Trying to find step by step instructions or a diagram on how to replace emergency brake shoes on my 2002 Ford Explorer 4.0L 4x4. This is my first time trying to work on something with rear disc brakes.

Is it expensivie to to repair front brakes on 2003 Ford Explorer?

Not if you can do it yourself. The shop would probably charge 150.00 to 400.00 depending if it's 4X4 or if you will need new rotors or not.

I have a 2003 ford explorer. I accidently backed

on top of your brake master cylender under the hood (where you put in brake fluid) there is a sensor in the end of it which is for your cruise control. Un-plug the electrical connector and see if you see brake fluid in that sensor -take it to the dealer. This faulty cruise control switch has been the cause of many Fords catching fire. They will fix it for free-it is now a recall. This problem will allow the cruise not to work and an a.b.s. light also. Hope this helps!

I have a 93 ford explorer 4x4 automatic. The 4x4 doesn't engage, or does anything when the button is pushed. Is this something simple to fix? Thanks Duane

This will take two persons to do...with a light hammer or mallet, hit the 4x4 motor on the transfer case as another person is pushing the 4x4 high switch, while the vehicle is in neutral and the emergency brake on, AND FOOT ON THE BRAKE.BE CARFUL NOT TO RUN OVER YOUR HELPER!!!! If it starts to work, replace the 4x4 motor. The inside of the motor gets corrodid from water and dirt.

How hard is it to replace front rotors

for the most part you put the car on jackstands on both side and there is two screws on the back of the brake caliper remove them and then you take a little brake fluid out first then you take a-c-clamp and use one of the old pads and the take the c- clamp and close the cylinder on the caliper so you can get your new pads on because they will be thicker and once you have it all back together be sure you add brake fluid back in and put the cap on and pump the brakes to get the pedal back up before you drive the truck and here is a website that may have you truck listed its and i hope i have been some help to you
