Question about 2005 Honda Accord

2 Answers

2005 Honda Accord power door locks froze a couple of times last winter, had to wait until the afternoon when the temperature warmed up to work. Dealer claimed that the actuators worked properly when they checked it in a warm garage, so did not replace.

The dealer is full of garbage. This is a common issue with Accords. It will only get worse until they stop working. Fight them to replace them.

This is common on the older hondas, the idle goes up and down, this is caused by a couple of things, you may have low coolant or a bad idle air control valve, the last thing it may be is the power steering preasure switch, this switch is the most common, when you turn the wheel the switch is actived to raise the idle . sometimes that switch shorts out and cause the problem you are having, this switch is located on the powersteering hose, unplug the connector and if the idle stops going crazy then thats the problem.

Front passenger door autolock is not working

Remove door panel and check for power at door lock actuator. Most likely faulty actuator if power is at the master and individual power door lock switches.

What oil viscocity for honda accord DX 1990 for cold weather ?

5W- 30 is the lowest you can go in winter time. I would use a high mileage formula since we're talking about a 1990 honda. It will help condition the seals in the motor from making any oil leaks worse.

Uneven cold air from front dashboard vents

Well this is simple. You never should run out of refrigerant EVER. If you do, it is a leak. Not enough refrigerant causes uneven vent temperatures. You need to find and repair the leak. This can be done with a refrigerant detector or by using AC dye. I would not recommend doing this yourself, take it to a dealer. Good luck

There is a recall on this exact problem. I would contact your Ford Dealer. I recently was advised of the recall when I called Ford.
