camshaft sensor was replaced and they syncronizer...but this code is disabled and only can be obtained from the dealer...and the dealer is giving me a hard time

  • Ted Schore May 11, 2010

has the car be worked on recently? i dont know how people get a code and not told what it means? most likely it has a Camshaft Position Sensor problem OR it wasnt installed properly and its not in "time". A shop will need a special tool and procedure to make sure its in "SYNC" with the crankshaft.

1309 fault, means when the misfire monitor is disabled.usally due to the input signal generated by the camshaft position sensor(cmp)by sensing the passage of teeth from the cmp wheel. I hope this helps you

Engine management light is on s o done self test on Ford focus 2000 it's come back with R22 and E001 fault code Amy ideas what it is at all

Hi there , good evening to you

Ok the cluster self test is no good these are internal cluster codes and are not reliable or relavent

You need to have a diagnostic fault code check done on the PCM
Nearly all garages have the equipment to do this

The most common faults we see are intake manifold runner control issues and HEGO (lambda sensor faults )
If the vehicle is still running ok eg no misfire then it will probably be one of the above
Again this is fault code dependent as the fault code check is an imperative part of correctly diagnosing this issue

What is ecu code 19 for 5.7 ltr vt 2?

It may well be the crankshaft position sensor, which is one of the most common error codes for any vehicle.

Unfortunately there's no way of testing a crankshaft position sensor other than replacing it.

A point to bear in mind is that an error code can display as a warning light .. and the true fault may be 'unknown'.

You have a choice: replace the crankshaft sensor in the hope that things are fixed .. or get a professional diagnostic check done. A mobile mechanic ..

A hand-held diagnostic machine is unlikely to be able to identify an error code on a pre-2004 vehicle. That's why mechanics -good ones - have a 'selection' of hand held diagnostic readers.

2004 ford expedition eddie bauer All the doors won't lock/unlock, just make a buzzing sound repeatedly. Also does this when shutting the vehicle off.

What makes a buzzing sound , the door lock actuators ? Or where do you hear the buzzing coming from if not at the doors ?
Power Lock
The power lock/unlock feature requests all of the vehicle doors, including the liftgate, be locked or unlocked upon a customer request from any interior door lock switch in the vehicle. The power door locking system functions independently of ignition status or vehicle speed. When the vehicle security module receives an unlock/lock command from any door lock control switch, the vehicle security module will activate relays internal to the module to supply the correct power and grounds for the door lock actuators.

    1. If the DTCs retrieved are related to the concern, go to the Vehicle Security Module Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Index to continue diagnostics.
    1. If DTCs are retrieved that are not found in the following Vehicle Security Module Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Index, refer to the Master Vehicle Security Module Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Index in Section 419-10 .

2003 impala, security light comes on ,you cant start the car . If you let it sit 15 min. it will start right up.

If you have access to a diagnostic code reader, scan the vehicle anti theft system for codes and check component values. Look for signal interruption at key cylinder. That year impala does not use a resistor key but instead uses a sensor in the key cylinder that works off of movement rather than resistance. These cylinders are known to fail or wire damage at the cylinder. Remove steering column trim at key cylinder and inspect wires for breaks or chafing. There is also a known problem with the body control modules on these vehicles. Testing can be done through a diagnostic scan tool. I hope this helps you with your problem.

Isuzu trooper cuts out while driving

Diagnostics is not what most likely was done

You have a vehicle checked for OBD Codes

That is not much in the way of a diagnostic process

Vehicles do not always set codes

Codes do not tell you what is wrong

Codes do not tell you to replace anything

There are no computers used to work on
or test a vehicle

When working on a problem using codes, factory manuals
as reference material, trouble charts & test equipment,
that is diagnostic work

So you need to have that done- after a road test,at a repair shop

I would suspect your Fuel Pump is failing

Speedometer doesn't work when car has been standing over night. when car has warmed up it works ok

chances are the vehicle speed sesnsor is playing up. Hard to test without a scan tool or diagnostic equipment. If available scan vehicle for fault codes and graph the vehicle speed sensor. If not i would take it to someone that can scan the vehicle and graph the vehicle speed sensor first thing in the morning. good luck

WHEN YOU HAVE MORE THAN ONE CODE YOU NEED TO KNOW WHAT IS THE PROBLEM .SO CHECK EVERY THING OIL COOLANT BATTEY AND GROUNDS. CLEAR CODE AND ROAD TEST NEED TO REACH OPERATING TEMPERATURE TO PROPERLY DIAGNOSE ANY DRIVABILITY .WHEN YOU DONE WORK ON THE FIRST CODE YOU COME UP WITH. WHEN YOU THING YOU FIXED OR REPLACED A PART GO BACK CLEAR CODE AND DO IT AGAIN IT YOU GOT THE SAME CODE YOU MISSED SOME THING. SOME OF THESE CODE YOU NEED A GOOD SCANNER .

1999 grand am, the service vehicle soon light has come on, don't know what to check.

you can have the problem checked at most part stores ie: auto zone.... free of charge. have them do a quick odb or error code test on your vehicle and give you the list or code(s) now diagnose each code(s) possible problems and fix the code once all codes have been repaired disconnect battery pos/neg for 5 mins to reset system after reconnection check engine lite may flash from 5miles driven up to 200 miles this simply means system is not ready to display any codes. When ready it has completly done a self check of its diagnostics if you were successful with repairing the error code light will go off this will happen by itself if not successful light will come back on re-test for error codes again and see what has been removed and what didn't get fixed from your initial diagnosis of the error code problerm 1ak+f4pj7cbm32cuniyi2gaaaaaelftksuqmcc

Checking the light does not even come on at all

PRE-CHECK
1. DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM
(a) Description
When troubleshooting OBDII vehicles, the only difference
from the usual troubleshooting procedure
is that you connect to the vehicle the OBDII scan
tool complying with SAE J1978 or TOYOTA handheld
tester, and read off various data output from
the vehicle’s ECM.
OBDII regulations require that the vehicle’s onboard
computer lights up the Malfunction Indicator
Lamp (MIL) on the instrument panel when the computer
detects a malfunction in the emission control
system/components or in the powertrain control
components which affect vehicle emissions, or a
malfunction in the computer. In addition to the MIL
lighting up when a malfunction is detected, the applicable
Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) prescribed
by SAE J2012 are recorded in the ECM memory
(See page DI-14 ).
If the malfunction does not reoccur in 3 consecutive trips, the
MIL goes off automatically but the DTCs remain recorded in the
ECM memory.
