Question about 1998 Volkswagen Jetta

2000 Jetta windows and trun will not move

Here is the deal. The fuse is good. Then all of the windows powered down. The only way to get them up was with the key in the door and then they would move up. Again, they used to quit working when the fuse for the windows and trunk blew, but now the fuse is good (which also operates the trunk unlock and it does not work. Is there some other fuse or relay I need to find?

You likely don't need a new motor. You just have to get your wipers repacked with grease.

Window, interior lights, car alarm and fuse keep on burning out

you have a short circuit or burned out wires somewhere, could be anywhere.
Try disconnecting the alarm, taking the bulb out of the interior lights, and putting in the fuse, if it blows again you know that the alarm or interior lights are not at fault, if it stays good replace the bulb and if it blows theres your faulty circuit, if it stays good then the windows are at fault.

My power windows won't operate. Ihave checked the

After checking the fuse and wiring harness, I removed the motor and tested it. The motor was working fine; I then tried moving the window up and down manualy and with a great deal of resistance
was able to move it. I then used liquid wrench on the pivot points and was able to get the window to
move. Then I lubricated the tracks and rollers with lithium grease and put the door back together
and now both windows are in perfect working order. I did have to repeat the process for both sides.
I should mention the T-bird had been garaged for a number of years so apparently the original lubricant had dried out.
Thanks for the interest and I hope my experience helps someone in the future.
Thanks again,

Hope this helps you!!!

Put your key in the drivers door key hole and turn it! Worked for me!
I had a service department recommend this to me.
I had never turned mine in the first place but it worked so I'm happy!

Good Luck!
