I would first check the belt which drives the power steering -- it may need tightening or replacing.--------- Charlie

Low on steering fluid...possibly and needs to warm up to work properly. or belt may be a problem...have that checked for tightness and security.

These codes all relate to fuel. As for the steering stiffening up, it shouldn't stiffen up if not used for a while. Check your tyre pressures, the tightness of the steering pump belt and level of fluid in the steering pump. If those are all fine, then a trip to your local workshop may be necessary.

Stiff steering

2 possibilities.
1.most likely your rack and pinion is out due to faulty power steering pump.
2.less likely your power steering is out.

If it's the electrical motor type of pump, you must connect to a full scale scanner like Lexia 3 to get it reset.

I have a 2006 Hummer 3. The power steering gets stiff and hard to turn intermittently. I have the factory recommended tires and have the truck serviced every 4000 miles.

I find it hard to believe that one of the tubes of steering oil could be blocked unless hit, so I would go for the pump. Poor oil pressure, ends up to low oil flow. However check your tubes, from and to the pump, and then, go for the pump. Sorry I can't tell you more.

My steering is really stiff fluid is full no leaks

Had same trouble with my 2005 F-150. There are 2 universal joints on the steering column shaft, 1 in the center of the shaft and the second down by the steering box. Sprayed rust check on these joints over 5 days and they eventually freed up and then covered them with grease. She steers perfect now and I did that last fall.Saved 700 dollars at the dealer.

My 2006 Uplander started to blow smoke from the left side of the hood yesterday. As I got out I noticed a trail of black fluid where I drove in, and it continued to leak out the bottom of the vehicle. The...

you need to get it clean all off then check all your fluids.
you should not drive the car until you find out what is the problem
because you can damage the engine or it will catch on fire.
2006 is kind a new to have this kind of problem, but any thing can happen. you may have run over some thing or a rock can hit a hose or radiator and cause steering fluid or transmission fluid to leak out
