Renaults have a 3 year warranty period, so as long as it doesnt have loads of milage on it yeah it will be fixed for free, i would book it in at a renault dealer as its not right it shouldnt take that long to start

My car starts and the securiy light comes on why?

Usually a broken wire in the column. There are several wires there, depending on whether you have passlock II or passlock III. They just break. Luckily yours broke while the car was running, which sets the security into default mode. Otherwise you wouldn't get the car started. If you decide to fix it or have it fixed, you will have to do a relearn for the security. Takes 30 minutes. Put a charger on the battery, Turn the key on (Don't try to start it) for ten minutes off for 30 seconds, on for ten, off for 30, on for ten off for 30, then start the engine. At any time the voltages drops too low or you accidently hit the starter and it trys to start, you will have to start all over.

Chrysler Intermittent Starting Problem

I have the same problem with my 2004 Chrsyler Concorde, however mine didn't start doing this until a recall involving reprogramming the cam shaft sensor was done. But I have exact same issues and no trouble codes appear for dealer either. My guess is that it is the cam shaft sensor, which I am going to get replaced. If you solve yours first, please post and let me know.

Intermitent Starting Problem

it sounds to me like you have a loose alternator belt also check the belt for cracks that is an indication of a worn belt and or dirty battery cables if your battery is more than 3 yrs old it may need to be replaced they normally only last about 3 yrs depending on the climate

92 Camry, have to start several times before engine turns on, onl

weak fuel pump, clogged injectors, air or coolant temp sensors out of specs. Timing belt was put on wrong. Timing is off. Map sensor out of specs. You do have a light on. Fixing why the light is on may fix your problem.

Trouble starting and blinking dash

I had exactly the same problem this morning after returning from the store. I replaced the OEM battery with an Optima Red Top Model 25. Problem gone. Chrysler OEM batteries rarely last more than three years. You don't need to buy an Optima, but they do last a long time.

Good luck....

Sounds like alternator.Get it started then disconnect one lead from battery and see if it still runs. If not, then have your alternator checked.

Renault clio 1.2 extreme problems

Hello, Gosh my 51 reg renault does exactly the same! Took it to a garage had the throttle body replaced with a genuine renault part but went again few months later - this time the car would not start - relays corroded. Had the throttle body replaced under warranty (Jan 08) but then it went again - this time told by renault that a Wiring loom needed replacing - £150 +VAT & labour. Last week went again - i'm beginning to think that this car will never be fixed. Renault wanted to charge £300 to fix but told them we had had all this work done previously and they came back and said it was a faulty connection. Tonight (05th Sept 08) as i type this my husband is waiting for the AA to tow him to renault as it has, yes you've guessed it happened again!!!!!!! This is rediculous, does no-one at renault know how to fix this??!!
