On my 2001 Windstar the blower works but no heat.

The blower works but no heat. Could it be as simple as a thermostat?

It is possible, but could be equally as possible to have a clogged heater core, faulty ducting actuator or vacuum leak.

Drive your car around for about five minutes...does the temp gauge ever get close to normal temperature..if it doesnt then that means its stuck open and wont give the engine a chance to heat up properly. time for a new stat.

How to change thermostat in a 2003 ford windstar

Is the problem the thermostat, or is the heater control blend door not diverting the blower air across the heater core....or is the heater core clogged? The thermostat is actually the least likely cause of cool air in the passenger compartment.

Heater core or thermostat

Nothing in or around the heater core could make a noise. The core is just a small radiator with coolant circulating through it. And if you feel both heater hoses, and both are hot on a warmed up engine, then coolant is circulating through the core and the heat should be working. There must be a door in the heater case that is not letting heat come out.
The noise may be from the blower motor and its plastic fan assembly. It should be pretty easy to take out the blower motor and check for any obstruction.

No heat blowing inside the van

is your blower fan working? if so, your thermostat on engine may be sticking open. Only a few dollars to replace the thermostat.

My 2001 Ford Windstar LE blows cold air and I've had the thermostat, both heat cores, blending door and coolant replaced. What else could it possibly be?

i would take it back to whomever did all that work and ask them to fix it. if you did the work, time to take it to a ford garage.

Ford windstar 2001 is not blowing out heat. it makes a noise when the temperature bar is moved from side to side,

If the blower motor runs, I believe you have a broken linkage or hopefully it just came loose on your contol. Doesn't run: check fuse then relay then motor...

2001 Windstar- I have no heat or defrost. I do

I had this problem and noticed a faint clunking sound behind the radio. It was the blend door motor that needed to be replaced. The motor has small fine tooth plastic gears that wear out and won't open to allow heat.

Sounds like your blower motor the little motor the spins to circulate the hot air is either dead or dying needs replacement

Rear cooling and heating blower motor does not work

its not in the headliner. its under the side panel in the rear on drivers side. you half to remove the panel on the inside just above the rear tire. since the moter runs sometime i would replace the blower motor resistor first cause these are known for going bad and its in the same area as the blower motor. this resistor controls the fan speeds and if its gone bad the fan dont run right. plus its alot cheaper than blower motor. once you have replaced the resistor you can turn the fan on and see if its a fixya before putting the panel back in place.
