One of the bearing, ac belt passon is broken.

Hi, I have toyota HZJ 79 models in a field location. The working conditions are bad. This morning we saw that one bearing is broken. This bearing is located just besides the AC belt pulley, I think this bearing is just to support the AC belt to run. We have removed the AC belt for the time bieng. I just want to know how it can happen? too much pressure on the AC belt??

Prado Diesel 2006 - aircon not effective above 35 degrees - recent front end smashed, just repaired by panel beaters.
Toyota suggest requires an auxillary electric fan on radiator. cannot recall seeing one on there before the smash. defenitatly not one ther now.
Have just fitted a soverign bbar - maybe airflow has been affected?

Did the 2006 diesel have a electric thermo fan fitted as standard?

2009 Toyota rav4 ac not blowing cold air...heating works..just fine...check all the fuse. .and still has freon..

How do you know that it still has refrigerant in it? Open the bonnet and check that the air conditioning compressor is turning when you turn the a/c on. Check that the belt is not broken or missing and that the clutch engages when you turn it on. If the compressor is turning, then you will need to take it to a specialist a/c repairer. A broken belts is a common reason for the a/c to not work, and a gas leak is also a common fault.

Adjust fan belt toyota land cruiser 79 series 2008 model

Hi there , there should be a adjuster on the alternator, unless it's a serpentine belt, if a serpentine belt then you will need a new tension bled idler, hope this helps.

2001 holden rodeo air conditioning broken, broken fan belt, suitable fanbelt to bypass aircon

Use the same belt as the ac compressor will not work unless you turn it on. Disconnect the wire to the ac pulley clutch and the pulley just becomes an idler and you can get the standard belt anywhere.

Does the A/C belt drive any other devices. Can I remove/cut the belt without affecting the vehicle performance other than no air conditioning operating. Problem is Air conditioning pump bearings very...

  • I'm over here across the pond and trying to locate a diagram of your engine. Here is how it works either way. If your AC is hooked up with the rest of the drive line items and everything is on ONE belt then you cannot.
  • However, if your compressor is hooked on its OWN belt to the crankshaft pulley then that belt only runs the compressor, smile and cut/remove the belt, it will be fine.

  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

Well i just had a wheel alighnment this morning on my 1994 hzj 75 and it pulls to the more then when i went there what could it be now

If the alignment settings are within specs, then you could have a brake dragging, or a bad tire, or wheel bearing. By the way, if you have a bad radial tire on the front, the car will pull to the side with the good tire.

Be carefule of hot parts and rotating/moving belts and pulleys.

If its a whine, most likely the bearings on the idler pulley or the bearings on the ac compressor clutch.
-To trouble shoot with engine running and ac on spray wd40 on bearing area of clutch then wait a few seconds to see if sound goes away. If not then try bearing area(behind bolt of pulley) of idler. This will work as temporay fix, but ultimatly you must replace bad bearing.Do NOT spray on belt or pulley surface.

If its a squeal could be the belt is loose and needs to be replaced or dressed.
-Belt dressing can be spray directly on belt while engine is running and ac is on.

Not heating on passon side

if it has dual controls more than likely the blend air door for the passenger side has broken and you will need to remove the heater/ac box to repair it
