I have a 1996. Eclipse gs and wen it is driven in high speeds the steering moves side to side I have tried fixing it by going to mechanics but still hasn't been fixed way could if be??

engine mounts going bad for sure. put on parking brake block tires. open hood. get a buddy to stand BESIDE car and look at engine. you get in car hold down brakes and put in reverse, and give it gas while holding brakes. Dont let car move. if engine moves up and down more than a half inch. bad mount. do in drive to check other mount. usually go bad at once. get a All wheel alignment.

Transmission rebuilt 5 years ago on a 1997 Eclipse RS. Now, the RPM levels are extremely high even without full acceleration.

The likely cause for your high RPM may be caused by a vacuum leak in the engine. You can open the hood and check your hoses for cracks and leaks. This is a good place to start, but may no be a full solution.

98 eclipse Engine stall but stars

Sounds like your IAC (idle air control) motor needs to be replaced. If you are driving on the Interstate/freeway/highway for a bit and then get off, the car dies when your coming to a stop right?

96 eclipse need more info..

This sounds like the timing belt is shot. Remove the distributor cap, have your helper crank the engine. Is the rotor turning?? If not, then it is the timing belt. Some engines are rather forgiving when the belt breaks, some will get bent valves. Frankster016
