What would cause a p0236 code to continually go off even after knock sensor has been replaced twice?

Is there a knock in the engine? If the motor rattles, the knock sensor will think its pinging and retard the timing to compensate. This will set the code.

I have a 2006 KIA Sportage who's check engine light came on. Had the EGR replaced but now the light comes on and can go off for days. Taken it back for a diagnostics check but no problems can be found....

have to put tester on and see what code comes up ... could be anything... bad weather will do it to my car and about 3 days later the light goes out and may stay out for months until the right wind conditions seem to set it off ... Mine is O2 related so I'm thinking the vacuum of a strange wind can starve the engine of o2 at times and when it runs normal long enough the code shuts off.

SOUND LIKE PROBLEM IS EGR VALVE FAILURE.CHECK TO SEE IF EGR VALVE IS GETTING VACUUM. IF ALL IS GOOD EGR VALVE INTAKE OR EXHAUST MANIFOLD PASSAGES ARE RESTRICTED OR THE EGR VALVE IS DEFECTIVE.

Service engine soon light

if it is for the EGR valve again, replace the valve and the DPFE sensor. Not sure what an EGR regulator is. Could be a bad hose going to the DPFE, or a clogged tube or EGR port also.

2002 accord code P0401 [egr insufficient flow detected]

the code you have may not be due to insufficient lift, more likely you have either high or low voltage running through egr. replace the valve and your issues should go away.

I would have the front brakes checked and from what you are telling me you may have a warped rotor I do not know how many miles are on the car some cars have a reset after the oil change has been done to turn off the check engine light but if it keeps coming on take it to autozone and they will put it on a tester for free and then you will know what needs to be done
