Question about 1994 Toyota Celica

1 Answer

1994 Toyota Celica ST will kill at idle when I've been driving for a few minutes. When I turn on the car it idles at 1200-1300, when I shift to drive/reverse it goes down to 800-900. After I've been driving it idles at 700-800. And when I come to a stop light, it'll drop down to 100 and pop back up a couple times and then die, unless I keep my foot on the gas. Sometime I need to keep it steady at 1100 to keep it from dying, and sometimes it's gets as bad as needing to keep it up at 2000. Recently replaced: Valve Gasket and Fuel Filter Any help is appreciated.

This a problem with a vacuum hoses leak. Need to find the leaking hose due to cracking and joint rubbers degrading. Need to have  a Mitty vacuum gauge to check these plastic hoses one by one to replace bad ones or replace all of them. If you don't feel comfortable to do thi,s have a shop find a vacuum leak for you.

1990 toyota celica gts 2200 motor vibration when idled up

You may want to check your motor mounts. If the mounts are broken or just too old they will cause the engine to have excessive vibration your notice also when shifting to drive or reverse it will feel like the vehicle jumps. replacing the mounts will help if they are damaged or may be that the vehicle needs a tune up.

1994 toyota celica over revving when I accelerate

Adjust the idle if needed. If adjusting the idle isn't helping, remove air cleaner and wipe out throttle body.
You could have a leaky vacuum hose or a faullty IAC valve.

Burning lots of oil . but gasgets all ok.and need to know if can slightly speed up engine without computer assistance. 1.8 st celica n.reg.

You must have worn poston rings or worn vavle guide seals causing the accesive oil burning. As for raising your engine idle speed, it can be done by adjusting your idle screw, but it's not recommended. Factory idle is about 700-750 RPM.
