Where is the fuse for the alternator in a 2000 murcury sable

There are three fuse's for alternator ! One in the under hood fuse box, F126 30amp, one in the central junction box F227 10amp an there is a 175 amp fuse or fusible link installed in the heavy gage wire from battery to the back of the alternator . Rather then tearing the vehicle apart looking for fuse's , take a volt meter an check the wires at the alternator an see if your missing voltage at any wires . Does the charge light or battery symbol light come on when you turn the key on ? If so you have eliminated one of the fuse .

The Mercury Sable and the Ford Taurus are sister cars using the same platform. There are two fuse boxes, one under the dash on the driver's side and one under the hood.

1998 mercury sable fuse box location for the blower

Your fuse panel should be located below and to the left of the steering wheel, next to the brake pedal. For the blower, you want fuse 13. It should be a 5 amp fuse.

97 mercury sable blows alternator fuse after a few hours. Not right away. Alternator & battery are new & test good when change fuse. Do you know what causes this? Thank you for your time. . .

Sounds like a wire grounding from worn insulation or a faulty voltage regulator being the problem. Normally that is built into the alternator but Mercury used a separate or split unit design for a few years int eh 90's. Unfortunately I don't remember what years specifically.

My 1998 Mercury Sable horn is not working, where

We have 2005 mercury sable. Horn was not working but you could hear the relay clicking inside the vehicle when pressing the horn button, and the fuse was fine. I found the horn by looking under the vehicle behind the driver side headlamp. Tapped on the horn with a wench and IT WORKED AGAIN!

Where is the fuse for the heater located?

Ok, there is going to be a box underneath the hood of your car. It is usually on the drivers side. You will be able to open this box and there should be a diagram on which fuse is the heater. Be sure to take off the battery terminals before switching these fuses out (just in case).
