I did replace the fuel pump relay and checked to see if there is power at the fuel pump. Is the Oil Pressure Sensor also known as Oil Pressure Switch?

Fuel Pump RELAY & FUSE CHECKED & DO you Have POWER "TO" Fuel Pump ? ALSO OIL Sending Unit Supplys the GROUND To Fuel Pump , This is A Saftey FEATURE that Shuts Down Fuel If ENGINE Looses OIL PRESSURE . And If This OIL Sending Unit or also Called (OIL PRESSURE SENSOR) << If It FAILS it WILL Cause What Seems Like A Fue Pump Problem But Is Rally Just The Sensor that is BAD. HOPE this Sheds Light on Your Problem !

How to replace a fuel strainer on a 2000 Nissan maxima

Remove rear seat now u have access to fuel pump. Remove cover disconnect wire harness. Then there is a big plastic screw top which goes around whole pump and secures it to fuel tank. Turn counter clockwise with some force without breaking it. The remove pump slowly so you dont break fuel level float. Now you should have access to the strainer.

2004 gmc sonoma will not start after very hard braking

This could be electrical, when you get engine not to start check your fuel pressure and also see if you have spark, this will help in finding the problem.

these trucks are none for electrical connector problems to fuel pump, by checking to see what the engine is missing ,like spark or fuel will help, check the ground to the frame on the rear of the truck .if you locate the wiring harness going to pump you will see groud wiring leading off harness to frame rail, make sure that is good also you can try to move wiring while someone is trying to start engine to see if it is a wiring problem,

If it turns out to be wiring to pump there is a replacement connector sold to rewire fuel pump connector, start with these tests and will go from there. good day.

My fuse for the fuel pump keeps blowing. the fuel pump was replaced. it was intermitant now as soon as you put the fuse in it pops. Short in the wiring somewhere?

When the fuel pump is replaced, often the correct wiring harness needs to be spliced in. The original wiring harness was more than likely reused. It is very possible the wiring harness is the cause for the short. Other than that, check where the wires go from the fuel pump wiring harness to the connection to where they go back inside the car. Corrosion is often another problem.

How do i replace the wiring harness in a 94 dodge shadow, there is a short leading to the fuel pump

You may not be able to replace the harness 1. it most likely not even available 2. its too expensive and 3. the labor involved would be huge. You will need to find it and repair it. it always helps to tell what engine/ trans you have, the wiring diagrams are different. The white wire will be power and it comes from the fuel pump relay (drivers strut tower, inner relay) take a test light and put one lead on positive battery terminal, now disconnect the relay and connect test light to the white wire, now disconnect the fuel pump and if the light is on, there is a short, and you will need to follow the harness and wiggle it until the light flickers, then you may find the short.

Fuel pump on 1994 caprice not pumping fuel. its a new pump. replaced pigtail harness and relay. checked all fuses and used test light to check wires connecting to fuel pump.

I've run into new pumps that didn't work. If there is power at the pump and it is not pumping, then the pump should be replaced, again (under warranty).

Bad wiring to fuel pump

don't know how you came to this conclusion but your fuel pump harness has four wires two for the gauge and two for the pump, if you dont know what they are you go over to a auto parts place have them show you one and look at the harness to see which go to the pump now go test the pump on your truck remember when you turn the key you will only recieve power to fuel pump for a few seconds to prime the fuel line after which once it starts the computer cintrols the rest. you might have a bad crank sensor causing it to not start.

Birning the fesue for the fuel pump

You could have a short in the wire harness to the fuel pump or the fuel pump it self is bad or the relay has gone bad also. Start with the replacement of the fuel pump relay and also find the wire harness to the fuel pump sending unit from the frame to the gas tank and disconnect the connections. If the fuse does not blow when the connection to the fuel pump is disconnected, then it's a go chance that it's the fuel pump. If the fuse blows and the wire harness is disconnected, then the problem is towards the fuel pump relay and fuse block. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help you get your car running 100% again.

1999 oldsmobile silhouette van won't start. no power to fuel pump

I have a silhouette and it had the same problem
Follow the fuel pump wiring harness to where it plugs into the floor of the van--pull the connectors apart--they will probably be corroded, and you will possibly have to change both wiring harnesses or connectors.
