Use the owners guide which should have instructions on how to measure transmission fluid; it's not the same for every vehicle. You may have lost enough fluid to disable the tranny.

Have you checked the transmission fluid level? If the level is ok, you need to get the transmission checked out. Does reverse or any other gear work?

My 2010 chevy hhr is stuck in park wont go into gear transmission auto I start the car push down on the brake and cant move the shifter at all cant put it in drive or any gear

Look on the brake pedal lever for an electric switch. Replace the switch and see if that works. If not, get under the vehicle and look for a loose wire on the transmission. If this doesn't work, you will have to take the vehicle to a transmission shop. There is likely a loose wire or a bad servo inside the transmission. But the shop will first run a diagnostic check. They will then know what the problem is and repair it.

Battery fully charged, engine won't start or even turn over, gear locked in park, brake pedal is depressed.

Shut off the vehicle. Place the transfer case indicator into whatever gear you want and then start the vehicle. You placed the transfer case into neutral while the engine was running in gear that's why all the grinding.

Vehicle transmission linkage or bracket bent/broken or electrical wires damaged. Most likely visible when vehicle raised safely and inspected. Good luck and safe driving to you!

Have just replaced auto gearbox in zafira1.8. but cant get any gears

Check the fluid again. When you fill the transmission the torque converter is still empty (if it is new). When you put the vehicle in gear it then pumps fluid to the converter and the transmission is mostly empty again.

The car just stopped ,and i found out that thegeabox oil is leaking strongly and thewe cant even push the car it cant move

don't quite get your questionbut if you simply want to move the vehicle you can manually put in the proper gear by looking under hood, find the shift cable on top of the tranny. pop it off the and count the clicks. one is reverse, two neutral and so on. you can also drive it to a mechanic like this.you will need another person to help unless your park brake works well enough to hold the car when you put it in drive. CAUTION: ONCE REACH YOU REACH DESTINATION REMEMBER TO PUT IT IN PARK FROM UNDER HOOD.

I have a F250 lariat with a 460 - truck stalls when I put it in gear - even after it runs for 20 min. Sometimes it will stall while I'm driving. I had carborator replaced last year. Hope you can help.

Some possible causes could be:

Vacuum leaks cause an engine to run lean witch can cause the vehicle to stall when put into gear.

Improper base idle adjustment can cause the vehicle to stall when shifted into drive or reverse

A malfunctioning or damaged carburetor can cause the vehicle to stall when shifted into drive or reverse

Improper ignition timing can cause the vehicle to stall when shifted into drive or reverse.

A malfunctioning or damaged transmission or torque converter can cause the vehicle to stall when shifted into drive or reverse

Drove my suburban in the driveway, tried to back out and it sounded like i hit something in the back under vehicle, there was nothing there. now vehicle will not move at all. i am getting alot of different...

1)check that the park brakes are not seized on.
2)check the driveshaft where it connects on the differential.
broken driveshafts and universal joints are common on those.
