This Sounds Like and Most likely is the BLOWER MODUAL Failure.
It is ALSO Possible that The BLOWER MOTOR Has Failed With it as Running it As you did LAST YEAR Can Dammage (OVERWORKED) the Blower Motor itself Also

I have a 1999 GMC Suburban and the heater switch only works on high. Originally the heater fan did not work at all and then one cold morning I tried the switch and heard a loud clanking noise from the fan...

I'm 99% sure it is the blower motor resistor - common problem. Pull the panel off the passenger
side under the glove compartment. You'll see the blower assembly on the right side with a multi
colored wiring harness going to it. Disconnect the harness and pull out the reisitor, it'll have a gasket going around it to protect it from moisture and humudity. I have replaced 3 on my 1999, but the last one, I wrapped electrical tape around the exposed resistor. Might be luck, but this one has lasted me over 2 years now. While you have the panel dropped, I highly suggest chainging the air filter located there as well. Your AC will run more efficient.

1986 TOYOTA CRESSIDA FAN BLOWER DO NOT LAST BECAUSE IT ALWAYS WORKS ON HIGH

A heater motor only working on high is a sign of a bad heater blower resistor. It is mounted near the heater motor and is replaceable. (Normally behind the glove box door.)

My heater is not heating even though my fan is working. Any ideas on whats going on? I just had my fan replaced last year

Could be your heater valve, heater core, your thermostat (simple, cheap easy fix if that is what it easy).. but since your fan was replaced last year, did you or your mechanic remember to reopen your heater valve? Try the opening of heater valve and go from there, let me know and I will see what else may be wrong.... Or buy a service manual for your year make model of vehicle and it will assist you the service manuals are invaluable and well worth the $$$ when trouble shooting and doing your own wrenching...
If I can be of further assistance please do not hesitate to reply...
Hope my advice helps you out please do not forget to rate/vote or place a testimonial to my advice...

No heat and fan only works on high

The fan only working on high is due to a defective blower motor resistor pack which must be replaced. No heat can be a clogged heater core, defective heater control valve, or thermostat stuck open. On a 8 year old car it is time for a full cooling system service. Drain, flush, replace the thermostat, and refill with a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and distilled water.

Climate contrl fan

I had the same problem twice. The dealer said it was a recall for a bad fan control switch. It's located under the glovebox near the center of the dash and held in by two screws. Last time i had to replace the part was about 34.00 and did it myself. The cover under the glovebox pops out and you can see the part. They had problems with them burning out and only work on high after that happens.

Heater fan only works on high speed

usually when the blower motor gets old its starts to draw more current to run. which can pop fuses, burn out resistors and melt wires. also when you go to replace the resistor check the connector for signs of melting or burning you may end up having to replace that conector
