Question about 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 Quad Cab Laramie

1 Answer

Diesel fumes smell coming through the dash air vents.

2007 Dodge Ram 2500 with the 6.7 L diesel, I have had this in for this problem two times and each time they tell me they can't get it to do it for them. Called the Dodge service rep today, and he spoke with the dealership and they had their service manager to take a ride with me and he smelled it also. I'am to take it in for them to go throught it again Oct. 9th when they can keep it for several days to try and figure it out, It seems to happen after starting it up when it has sit for awhile, then driving at highway speeds for about 6 miles or so, then getting off the highway, and stopping at several stop lights or signs. And the it clears out as you get driving again. He said they hadn't heard of this problem before but I see here others have.

My 2007.5 Dodge Ram 6.7 l diesel has that problem since it was new. Been in and out of the Dodge service center many times and they gave me a copy of the manual which states; use the recirculation mode on the heat system. As I had explained to the Service Tech, I was had the defrost system with temps down to -14 on a hunting trip to MT. I explained all the details of the problem, as we have many times and even though this is my 3rd Dodge Cummins truck since 1990, I was treated like I had no idea of what I was talking about. I'm now looking for help from non-Dealer experts, as I have had it with these factory Service Tech. I have been getting the run-around since late 2007 from Dodge. I have been assigned a claim number - but I need information from others with this same problem. My diesel smell head-ache is now a big head-ache and I'm ready to take on these Dodge Ram people. I finished with rolling the windows down in the middle of winter to clear out the diesel smell.

I owned a 2004 dodge ram 1500 hemi. When I'm driving and the A/C is on I can smell the fumes coming from the car or truck in front of me. Any suggestion on how to fix it?

most a/c system have a flap in the system that allows you to decide wether to get fresh air from outside or recirculate the air in the car. One is to stop you getting drowsey fromn any gasses getting into the car and the other is to get the cool air colder by recooling already cold air. Try closing the flap and see what happens

No a/c, no freon....2001 dodge ram 2500 diesel 2 wheel drive

It is most likely the evaporator leaking. You'll need to remove the dash panel assembly and the heater housing to gain access. I have replace many Chrysler evaporators in trucks, minivans, and Jeeps to name a few. I hope this helps.

Exhaust fumes in cab at stop light.

I would suggest taking this to the dealer....it could be coming through the a.c. vents. Since its a brand new truck....let them **** with it.
