Try these two cheaper fixes, change the thermostat and radiator cap on the car and see if it still does it. If it does the water pump is not circulating and needs to be replaced.

When you have coolant loss, it can go out as a leak which would make a pool of antifreeze under the car, or it can go through the engine into the exhaust. This shows up as white smoke that smells like pancake syrup. It's hard to tell from your description which one is going on. The first cause is more simple to fix, you would just find the leak and change maybe the water pump or the leaky radiator or heater core. The second is likely a blown head gasket, which is an expensive repair.

As soon as I turn on the car its running hot. Sat all night. Coolent is a little low but not bad.

Is the car actually running hot, or is your temperature gauge telling you it is? Even on the hotest day, your engine still has to reach 210F+ before it opens the thermostat, so running hot as soon as you turn the car on, is not possible. Use a termperature gauge to measure the temperature of the coolant in the radiator overflow resevoir, to see if it what it reads.

The only time it will actually get hot almost immediately is when you have a blown head gasket! Are you getting any sign of water on your oil dip stick or and oil scum on your coolant in the resevoir?

Sitting in car in parking lot with engine running - it dies, won't turn over... I get a jump start No changes in termperature gages at all Idles rough, check engine light on, reduced engine power reading -...

Hi and welcome to FixYa!
It is safe to drive and I assume that you are on limp mode. This is to restrict the speed to avoid further damage to the engine. You can be facing some sensor issues like the MAF (mass air flow) sensor or TPS (throttle position sensor). If one of these sensor is faulty the car tends to run sluggish, run rough or may even result to stalling.

Have the sensors replaced and observe how it goes. This can fix the issue.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

No heat out of heater ,engine heats up fine

it is only 4 years old, take it to a dealer and have them tell you whether or not the heater core replacement is under warranty. if it turns out the termperature control flap is just stuck open, they can tell you and fix that for nothing in just a few minutes

1998 ford taurus no heat, replaced thermostat, heater core and the blend door motor seems to be working, flushed radiator, and still no heat, any suggestions?

You might have to purge the coolent system cause when you change stuff like that you normally have to bleed the the colent system. So what you have to do is run the car untill your temp gets to 195 degrees the cut the car off and let the coolent drain down and then refill and geep doing that untill you have heat.
