Question about 1995 Chevrolet Camaro

1 Answer

I have a 1995 chevy z28 camaro, on my way home from work it died on my just cutt off. i got it crunk back up and found a vacum leak under the hood and tryed to put duck tape on it so i could get it somewhere to repair it. when i went to crank it up again it would crank and rpms would go to about three and cut off again and i played with it. i had to hold the key turned a little so it would crank and stay on. i got it to the parking lot of my bericks on base then it started to run funny the rpms went between 2 and 3 and it usualy stays at 1 and a half, while it was in park. then about 10 mins later it cut off and wont even turn over now. when i turn the key my fans come on my lights and it clicks like is my starter or something clicking but it wont turn over at all nothing. one of my friends said something about a grounding wire. cause he had a problem like it. it is a 350 LT-1 v8 but his is a ls not lt-1. can you help me?

Same thing was happening to me when i started fixing mine up; when your talking about the starter humming up and not starting the car, i basically replaced all 8 sparkplugs and got a new starter and a new battery. My guess is that maybe your starter has gone out from all the playing and starting back up so often. The vaccum leak is a big deal so get that fixed first, but if u do and it still wont start, do what i did!

Low coolant

the fluid has to be going somewhere. run the car so that the coolant gets flowing look very carefully all over under the hood. i dont know but if you ever get an antifreeze smell while in the car it may be your heater core.

Fuel smell in camaro

50 miles reduction in the conditions mentioned means that your economy is about right
there is a small hose back from the tank to under the cap to release air trapped when filling
koses can get loose , crack or break
tank sender units gaskets can break down
look around the tank area for the leak /smell
a damp patch in the dust is a good give away

My 88 camaro now has no vacuum

Do you hear a hissing noise, either in the car or under the hood when its running? If you do just follow your ears and thats where the leak is. All vacume comes from the engine when its running, sounds to me a maine vacume line has come unhooked under the hood.
