1999 Honda CR-V rattles during acceleration

I have been hearing a rattle coming from under my 1999 Honda CR-V for the past week or so. I hear it when I press the gas pedal as well as when I release the pedal. It is not a constant noise; just during the initial press or release. I thought maybe something was loose underneath but can't see anything. Today my engine light came on so now I'm thinking something is definitely up. Any thoughts?

Usually it is a loose rusted exhaust heat shield or shields.
Slide under and tap the exhaust system and shields from front (on the engine )to back.......there will be at least one rattle heard.

Hey. Same thing happened to me. There are rocks or debri stuck in your catylitic converter. Go under your crv and knock on it. You wil hear the rattle. Usually you can just pry it out from the openings.

Sounds like an exhaust shield rattle, the brackets that secure the heat shield in place come apart due to rust.

Car rattles under right side of dash when accelerating

The rattling sound coming from the a/c system may be a sign of a failing blower, or there might be an object hitting the blades.

This can be inspected by an a/c technician, or if you are patient enough, you can check it yourself. Many automotive a/c blowers are located behind your vehicle's dashboard glove box.

Hope this helps.
