Question about 2005 Porsche Boxster

Open Question

Key wont come out ignition and auto gear selector very stiff.

Help! porsche boxster 2005 tiptronic s initially key would take a few minutes to come out the ignition after parking car now as time went on it went to 10mins, 20mins, 30mins etc etc now will not come unless i use a small screwdriver to press in the middle hole next to the area the key goes into the ignition, as time has gone on my automatic gear selector has gone stiff and to take it out of park you have to use both hands and pull it as hard as you can to get it into drive (this is after the engine is started) once driveing you can go into reverse, neutral, drive and even park without any problems and then back into drive, but once you shut down the engine and restart to go back into drive you finf that the gear selector does not want to budge. Any ideas and solutions would be welcome looked through many forums already cant make snse of it, some people say possible porsche recall issue??????????

SOURCE: manually openning the trunk of a 2002 porsche boxster

It can only be done using the key fob. Othersise use button inside the car. If your battery is flat you need a donor battery wiring to a connection in the fuse box (positive) anf door lock(negative) but see your hand book.

Try replacing the battery in the key. It may be too weak to engage lock.

SOURCE: 1999 porsche boxster windows wont go up all the way

That problem appears to be in the top release. this is the thing at the top of the windshield that you release. Press the button inside of it to see if that may be the problem. it is the only thing that wouldn't let your windows go all the way up. The switch inside may have gone bad.

How do I close the ignition key cover after replacing battery on porsche boxster ignition key

It's really tricky to align everything. Put all the parts in the key, if you're having trouble take all the parts out and put them in the other side of the key (the opposite side from where you put the parts in first) then push the cover on. If you put the parts on the wrong side first it won't close.

1999 Porsche Boxster. The key will not turn in the switch. Thanks!!!

If you have one key then the problem could be a worn key, you should try another key if you have one. If the key is not worn, then there is a problem in the ignition lock cylinder or possibly the steering wheel locking mechanism.

With the FM band selected, use the multifunction key " * " to
get the 2nd level menu. From this 2nd level use "<" or ">" to manually tune a desired station. The radio mutes and speed will increase if the key is held for more than a few steps. Fine tuning is accomplished by pressing and releasing the key.
