Question about Chrysler PT Cruiser
I just replaced my belt as well. first of all since you'll find it not a easy task and worth it to buy a new water pump, idler pully, tensioner pully, and crank and cam seals You'll be exposed to all these items once you figure out how to remove the heavy metal plate that the engineers had there fingers up there @&*&^%$%^ when designing. get you a hanes manual ,make sure you read and do everything it tells you to do..theres no easier way. and when raising the engine make sure you are clear from the computer located directly behind the air cleaner on the firewall. also if you disconnect the battery you must keep power on the vihicle .read the part in the book about disconnecting the battery. after you install the belt ,turn the engine over a couple of times and then recheck your alignments again. I didn't do this and now I'm off one tooth on the crank and having to reset the belt.the car runs great but the idle doesn't.it only took one tooth difference. I'll tell you this now GOOD LUCK!!
