Question about 2002 Dodge Caravan

How to remove door panel on 2002 dodge caravan

How do you "disengage" the clips around the door panel when removing the window regulator motor? Do you just pry the vinyl panel away with a flatbar? Found a similar problem on Fixya. Question was are the fasteners hook or pry fasteners. Answer - snap fastners. I'm assuming that means pry fastners, but don't want to break the panel trying.

The easiest way is to purchase a door panel removal tool for less than $10. You'll still probably break a couple of the tabs but the job will be much easier. Here's a picture of one:

How can i remove door skin on '97 dodge caravan mini van to repair power window?

you don't remove the door skin, you remove the interior door panel. Find and remove all screws in door panel, they will be located under panel, behind interior door handle, armrest area, you might have to remove plastic plugs that have screws behind them. Panel will have plastic clips all around perimeter, panel will pull towards you from edges to release these clips, lift panel up and it will come off. You will have to disconnect any wiring. now you can get into the door to get to window regulator and motor.

Passenger side window not working

could be a bad motor, regulator, or switch

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. you can then test out the switch and if it's not the switch, you'll need to pull back the weather seal to get to the regulator and motor

This is a common problem with driver side window. Its just a wear and tear problem. Don't go to the dealership, the Regulator will cost you over $230. Go to Amazon.com and search for the part number which should cost you only $70-80 or so. If you go to a glass place they will charge you dealership price plus $150 per hour.
