Question about 1993 Mitsubishi 3000GT

After the car ran hot, i discovered there was no coolant in the car , i added coolant and recharged the battery and it still will not start. what could be the problem

Check for lick of gasket if the head gasket is licking on any of the face this problem will arise visit to the nearest Mitsubishi outlet or authorised service centre or workshop but before doing consult or show the car to an expert or experience mechanic who can solve such issue their few reason for such problem but in this case what you mention according to that then it's the issue with head gasket lick then in this case it's the half engine overhaul is required this may sort out your problem....! for further FAQ just ask for any help any time most welcome till then see have a happy & safe drive motoring from Siddhanth

My 2002 Mazda tribute ran hot. I found out my heater connection was broke. But when I replaced it. It still ran hot and now it taps real loud when the motor gets hot.


Need to discover why it is running hot to start with but not drive if it is causing the motor to get noisy. Overheating can be due to a thermostat stuck closed, cooling fan not turning on, low coolant level etc. Need to get to the bottom of the overheating before engine is damage badly.

The water will keep blowing out this it common on this motor the cylinders compression pushes air into water jacket forcing it back out most likely it is gasket or warped head but there is a reason for this weather it water pump thermostat or cracked radiator

Transmission will not shift into high gear


That chocolate cottage cheese may have been transmission fluid mixed in with your engine coolant (transmission cooler in radiator ruptured), which means you could have been getting engine coolant in the transmission. What does the fluid on your transmission dipstick look like? If the transmission fluid is contaminated, it could cause a lot of problems in the transmission. If you suspect this, have a transmission shop check it out. Just changing the transmission fluid will not correct this, as there will be a lot of fluid that doesn't drain out - in the torque converter, valve body, and all the passages and clutches.

sounds like the auto oil coolong pipes popped a leak in the radiator

do the auto service and fit the parts
if oil and coolant haven't mixed in the auto itself
over drive clutch set may need a new kit fitted

drive it a bit and see what happens

What you are describing is an engine that is cooked.
If you check compression you may find one or more cylinders with low compression due to a blown head gasket or cracked block.

coolant has no bearing on whether the car starts, you have a major issue i think and its called a head gasket perhaps if u can get me more information i might be able to walk you through it

1997 GEO Prism engine light is on. Auto Zone says something is going on with my coolant system. Car has been sitting up for a year. Coolant was low so I added some. What would you suggest?


I had the same problem in my Subaru.It was low on coolant and ran just a little hot for a couple of minutes, and the "check engine" light came on.After adding coolant and resetting the light it never came back on.So, try resetting the light by unplugging the positive end from the battery for a few minutes, and then plug it back in.See if it will stay off, if not you may need to change the temperature sensor located near the thermostat on the top of the motor where the top radiator hose runs into the motor.

ok, if you havent added any oil to it, the only thing I can think of is you blew a head gasket, and you have radiator fluid mixed with your oil, hence the high oil pressure. Pull your dip stick and check your oil that way, to ensure proper oil levels and to check if you do or do not have coolant in the oil, another way to check is to see if you have oil in your coolant, once the seal on the gasket is broken oil and coolant dont have anything preventing them from mixing.

sounds like you blew a head gasket or cracked the head it will be expensive to repair. anytime you have white smoke coming out the exhaust you have water in the conbustion chamber.
