IT SNAPS IN AND OUT OF THE TRANS, THERE IS AN INTERNAL CIRCLIP, YOU NEED TO MAKE STRAIGHT SHARP OUTWARD SNAPPING PULLS TO REMOVE IT, AND YES THE 1ST TIME THEY ARE REMOVED IT CAN REALLY BE A TERROR TO GET OUT

You may need a pry bar, but it should just pull out. there is a ring at the end of it.

How do you remove the cv joint on the left side from the transmission?

YOU NEED A PULLER ON THE OUTSIDE WHEEL HUB PUSHING THE HALF SHAFT FROM THE FRONT HUB,THEN TAP THE SHAFT UNION AT THE JOINT CASE WITH A PLASTIC HAMMER TO REMOVE THE HALFSHAFT AND INNER SHAFT FROM THE TRANSAXLE. IF YOU HAVE AN INNER SHAFT REMOVE THE HALFSHAFT BY SETTING UP A PULLER ON THE OUTSIDE WHEEL HUB AND PRESSING THE HALFSHAFT FROM THE FRONT HUB. AFTER PRESSING THE OUTER SHAFT INSERT A PRYBAR BETWEEN THE TRANSAXLE CASE AND THE HALFSHAFT AND PRY THE HALF SHAFT FROM THE TRANSAXLE DONT PULL ON THE SHAFT.

Where is the Starter relay located on a 1997 Acura TL 2.5

The starter sits right above thepoint where the driver side half shaft CV axle enters the transmission. Youwill have to remove the half shaft to get it out.Your valuable feedback would be appreciated. Thanks for choosing Fixya

I need to no how to change the trans bearing where the cv shaft goes in the side of the transmission 5 speed (driver side).

Whoa Pal !!!!! This is a major undertaking requiring the removal of the Half-shaft and in some cases the strut and spindle assembly. But, once access is gained to the transmission housing outlet then it is just a matter of removing the weather boot and shaft seal, chiseling out the old bushing type bearing and pressing in a new one and reversing all tasks in disassembly.

Cv half axle on driver side chrysler 300m wont come out

Try pushing it in hard and then pulling it out quickly. Or get a pry bar or large screw driver between the transmission and half shaft. (There is a ring on the shaft which holds it into place.)

Hi, your axles on the metro are actually called half shafts, any larger name parts house can order them for you. Call them with the Make, Year, and Model and they will take care of you. you will need to tell them, drivers side or passengers side. Hope this helps!

Axle popped apart at knuckle. what now?

Colleen those are called half shafts they can be put back together but I suggest buying another half shaft and replacing it to get the other half out of the transmission you take a prybar and pry it out it snaps in and out it takes a bit of force to get it out

93 olds cutlass, how do i remove drivers side half shaft?

use a brass punch and hammer on inside joint between joint and transmission and it should pop out , assuming that the outside part of shaft is already seperated from hub , sometimes just a prybar will work
