Why is the air in cab not hot?

Yes a vacuum leak can cause the vent valves under the dash to not operate. To check this go from heat to defrost and see if you can feel the air flow change from out the dash or foot area to the window area. If it does change then it is probably not a vacuum problem.

I have a 2000 passat and have a weird clicking noise in passenger side dash when heating is on. heating works but only really cold or burning hot. no inbetween. any ideas.

There is an electrical actuator on the heater box that controls the flaps, this will be faulty causing the noise & heat setting issues

Ticking noise from heat duct

this is a classic sign of a blend door motor or the blend door itself having a problem. the changing of the amount of heat or cold air you get out of your vents use to be obtained by turning the knob on the dash which in turn moved the heat door via a cable now all these cars and trucks have gone to using a electric motor which moves the heat door(the blend door due to the fact it blends hot and cold air to obtain the temperature requested by the driver) when these go bad its often caused by the door itself (being its made out of a plastic ) getting deformed and then binding up inside the heater box(this is the housing in which the heater core and the blend door is housed) when it binds up the blend door motor which is a very small motor with plastic gears ,cannot get the door to the position requested by the driver and continues to try and starts skipping the gears in the motor causing the ticking noise your hearing. the parts are not as expensive as the labor ,to repair requires complete removal of the dash on most vehicles to access the blend test you can usually turn the temp knob back to a point were the motor is not binding and most often the noise will stop until you again attempt to move the knob to get more heat or cool air which again it cannot move the door to the place requested so the ticking noise re occurs

I have a 2002 Galant. Air works fine, but when I switch cold/hot switch to hot it does not work. Once in awhile when the switch is turned to hot you can hear clicking noise. Like a door is closing or...

There is an electric motor that turns heater core on and off. It's located under the dash to the left of the glove box. Some disassembly required. The part will cost about $120 to $180. part number is #MR958603. I saved money by purchasing it on line. It is a stocking part at most Mitsubishi dealers. Once you pull the glove box out and remove the bottom half of the dash all the way across, you should be able to gain access to the motor to replace it. Caution: if you do not put everything back in correctly and tie/tape it all back down carefully in the correct places you will have lots of under the dash noises when you are done.

How do i get the fan to blow the heat out

i guess the simple answer is turn on the switch, but you're probably already doing that. if it's blowing cold air when it set to hot, you may have air in the cooling system, or a blockage somewhere, usually in the heater core. if the fan isn't working at all, check fuses. if they're good, check for voltage at the fan itself and replace it if necessary.

Renault megane scenic RX4 climate control fan has failed

the vehicle is old enough that the fan blower motor sounds like it is in need of replacing. when you hit the dash it causes the brushes in the motor to contact enough to start the electrical connection, it may stop when it gets hot, or is turned off. the ticking sound is more than likely the bearings wore in the motor enough to cause the cage fan to touch the housing enough to cause the sound.

it is called a blend door acuator problem. it is what moves the door from hot to cold or vice versa. it is usually way up under the dash and is very hard to get to.usually requires dash disassemly. do yourself a favor and take it to a mechanic. it will save you $$$ in the long run.

Cruise control does not work

Replace the Brake light control switch located in front of the brake peddle under the dash this also turns the cruise off when braking. While driving put your foot behind the brake peddle and pull back toward you while doing this try your cruise if it works there are three possible causes or a combination of all three. Brake control Switch, Loose or sloppy brake pedal not activating the Brake switch properly or week brake pedal return spring. Good Luck.
