I think my kia needs transmission oil where can i put it in... I did a motor oil change but i cant find the transmission oil.

forget the friends advice
automatic oil should be light tan or cherry red depending on the brand of oil used
the oil should be changed around the 60,000 klm mark and done by accredited transmission shops
If you have a CV-transmission that requires a special oil (not auto transmission oil as they are not automatic transmissions --they have a belt running between variable pulleys which gives the impression that it is automatic but it is not)

It will be located on the side of the transmission and then another at the rear end. I would have a oil change company check and change oil if needed.

Keep driving it like that & it won't work at all

Newer transmissions don't have a band adjustment. They are self adjusting. IE.. fluid pressure. Try some transmission additive, for the seals.

You can use 5W 30 (what the manual requests), but these other oils will also work well with that car. I have tried them all and have more than 200,000 miles on my 03 Kia Spectra. The car has no mechanical issues. . . 10W 30, 10W 40. I use 10W 40 in the summer. The trick is to frequently change oil regardless of type and not let the oil go more than about 4,000 miles without an oil and filter change. That is the key to long life for these small motors. If you do that you NEVER will need to flush the motor and I would recommend you never use a commercial motor flush product. If the engine oil gets so dirty you think a flush is needed, then instead use a quart of transmission fluid, drive it for two weeks or 200 miles, then change the oil.

there should be two bolts on the bottom of the transmission the higher one is for the fill and the lower one is the drain... for an 05 optima i recommend 2 quarts penzoil manual transmission gear oil

You need to make sure you put the right amount of oil on your tranny, ask some one on any auto parts store, they will find out for you......
