1988 ford t bird has a vaccum leak think its going to brake booster but cant find it. 3.8 liter v-6 fuel injected motor

Use a can of starter fluid and spray around your vacuum hoses while engine is running (spray very lightly). Since the vacuum comes from the engine your engine will rev up when you get close to the leaking hose. Good luck

95 chrysler le baron surges and dies at idle

Could be a multiple of things. There is a Mass Air Flow sensor that could be going bad. There is an IAC valve, (Idle Air Control) that could be going bad. Is the check engine light on? You could have a vaccum leak, ie; manifold gasket or broken hose. To check for manifold leak or hose leak, start vehicle and use a can of brake clean and spray around the throttle body, manifold and hoses, if there is a vaccum leak and the brake clean is sucked in, the idle will go up in rpm's. If the check engine light is on, get it scanned and see what code you have and go from there. Good luck.

Car dies when either put into gear or pressure is applied to gas pedal, what's wrong

i would 1st check all of the vaccum hoses to see if 1 or more is leaking, or has holes in them, you can do this by running your hand along the hoses, but don't get into the fan. "while the engine is running , if you find a hose that is leaking and you hold the hole closed , the engine will run normal. then replace what defective hose, or hoses you fine, i had a friend that had the same problem, and his was a vaccum leak, hope this solves your problem.

Junk yards will have your part, and if that is a problem I have used JB Weld, a 2 part epoxy to do repairs on engines. It is a great inexpensive product that is permanent and will create an air tight seal.

Engine light on ,was told to change throtle sensor, changed but light still on also sounds as if vaccum leak

Scan for codes again and see what the code is. Now. with regards to a vacuum leak, there is a propane kit with a metered hose you can use to probe around the engine with to check for vacuum leaks. Basically where the hose is at the time of the rpm rise is where the vacuum leak.

You can generally find a vaccum leak by pressure testing the system. Most auto parts stores sell a vaccum tester relatively cheap. Or you can take it to a shop and they will pump your sytem full of a uv sensitive die and then use a black light to find the leak. If it says vaccum leak at engine on the vent solenoid then all you need is the schematic of your vaccum system to find the solenoid and you should find your leak theoretically.
