Ball joints dont just slip out they have to be removed with tool to press them out and then press them back in. . If your ball joint slips in and out the control arm is worn and needs to be replaced.

Slipped out?? of the steering knuckle???
if this is the case then you're probably missing the pinch bolt and nut that hold it in the steering knuckle. if the ball joint stud is undamaged and the knuckle is undamaged, then you can try slipping it back in, put in the pinch bolt and see if it all feels tight. but if there's any play in the ball joint then it needs to be replaced. if it's an original ball joint, you'd do well to find an air chisel to remove the factory rivets that hold the ball joint on the lower control arm

Shaking while braking

If you put new rotors on and used the old pads that could be your problem. You never put new rotors on, with out new pads even when the old pads look new. Also just because the rotors are new does not mean thery are not warped. I have done a lot of break jobs where i have had to take the rotors back off and had them turned because they were warped right out of the box.

Car slips out of gear after the engine warms up

Ok this is an internal transmission problem, the 1st thing to do is check the fluid level in the trans, do this only on a HOT transmission otherwise you will overfill the trans and damage it more, if the fluid is full and clean then the trans will need to be torn down, but this does sound like a low fluid level problem.
