Question about 1992 Buick Roadmaster

My remote keeps failing me. I've pulled the fuse out and put it back in, and it worked. Now that doesn't do anything. What is wrong? its a 1992 roadmaster wagon.

Remote control won't lock/unlock doors, but will open the trunk. What;s wrong?

There is a fuse box under the right rear seat cushion behind the driver. In that box is a 10 amp mini fuse marked "TRUNK DR RELEASE". That is the fuse that powers your remote receiver. If that fuse is good, the receiver may have failed. To remove the seat cushion, pull the front of the cushion up and then forward.

First@gmail.com, 2006 malibu cd player keeps the cd, doesn't eject or take the cd, but plays fine. Is there a part I can replace myself?

Is it a burned CD-R? I know (this is probably the same on a 2006) that on my 2005 if you put one in, it will play fine then lock the disc in. There is a fuse pannel on the passenger side on the center of the console towards the front of the car. Just pull the plastic cover off. Find the 10A fuse by the little grey box, and a blue and white circle. (or just look for the fuse labled "RADIO" on the map inside the plastic cover and then locate it in the fuse box). Turn the key off, pull the fuse, turn the key back on for a sec and the radio will not come on. turn the key off, put the fuse back in and turn the key on. the disc should either come out or you will have to push eject. This may or may not work, some people say it doesn't work for them. (this may reset the radio number buttons memory). Hope this helps!

I have a 2000 chevy silverado 1500. 3 nights ago, my truck started up just fine with no problems and has never had a problem starting up. The next morning, I tried to start it and the dash lights and radio...

do you have remote start on that truck? if you do, it has a hood safety switch that will keep it from starting if hood is open. That hood switch is quite easily identifyable. Look for it on the drivers side, either close to the firewall or right at the front of the fuse box.itsa worth taking a look

I have a 1992 lincoln towncar signature series that keeps drining battery what could it be ive had it in several times relay switches changed

It can be ANYTHING, but I suggest a battery draw test.
Map and pull all of your fuses, disconnect the negative terminal, and put a test light or voltmeter in series with the terminal and cable. if the light lights or voltage over .5 or so, something is draining. Now you disconnect things, starting with the alternator, and retest.

if no light or voltage, start putting back fuses one at a time. Put the interior light fuse back in LAST or get false reading every time the door is opened, which is often, during this process.

Most common, diodes in the alternator. Without a scope, or disassembly you can get okay test results, but not an indication of failure. if you disconnect it and test as described above, you can tell if it is draining your power. If so, it also will barely charge.

Another issue is a battery failure, so externally recharge that. If a battery goes totally dead, typically they fail to give satisfactory service and need to be replaced, as well, if the fluid in it goes below the tops of the plates, that is usually all she wrote for the battery.
You always need a good battery.

Why doesnt my transmission make shifts speedomiter

First check the 10 amp fuse #1.

If fuse is good, speed sensor has failed or is disconnected. Check connection. If connection is good, replace sensor.

Sensor is mounted on transaxle output. It should have a 3-wire connector on it with one yellow, one orange, and one black wire, as shown in diagram below.

Please let me know if you have questions.

2006 Toyota Sienna Taillight will not work I had remote start installed and when you remote start the tail light and parking light will flash indicating car is remote started. Problem: When I put the key...

Bypass the fuse? Bypassing a fuse is a fire hazard in the first place. When they worked on that everything should work normally plus the added feature. Not compromising anything. Take it back there and have it done properly or put it back the way it was, and have it done somewhere else. You work hard for your money so you deserve a good job on your car.

The gas gauge is not registering when gas is put in the van

I don`t know this particular car but I don`t think the dissy has anything to do with the fuel gauge. Did the fuel gauge work perfectly before?? If so, you`ll probably find that you`ve disturbed a connector which goes to the sender unit. It`s very easy to do, I`ve done it myself and it`s VERY annoying to find you`ve sorted one fault only to find that you`ve caused another fault. Just go over everything that you`ve touched and done to the car. Did you short something out when you were replacing the cap, if so, you`ll probably find that a fuse has failed and it`s not just the gauge that doesn`t work. All the best, Ian
