Solution #1. Posted Sept 29, 2009. Regarding your response; You need to be kicked right in the ***. I guess you are that 2 or 3 % of the population that is neccessary for running a large society. You know, people to push buttons, twist caps on toothpaste, and just grunt twice for yes and once for no. You need to read your f....'n guide (P's and Q's).

I have a 1995 ford escort and very hard steering, where is the power steering to check fluid or change the pump

The power steering fluid resivoir is located on the right hand fender up front under the hood. The pump is mounted below the altenator on the front side of the engine. The lines go down the right side of engine compartment to the power steering rack located at the bottom center behind the engine. Hope this helps, let me know.

Problems getting my Ford to turn corners.

A simple thing to check is to make sure your power steering belt didn't come off, or check to see if you have any power steering fluid in the reservoir, as it could have a leak too. If you don't have power steering, there isn't much that can fail quickly, except maybe the steering gearbox? If you don't see anything obvious, have a mechanic give it a look over

Very heavy steering on escort xr3i

it varied across the range, if you can see a bottle with a steering wheel icon on top then yes, however the older escorts where heavy to steer, i think that it was later on that they started adding power steering.

1998 ford escort 2.0 lx sedan power steering

Most likely the problem is the steering rack, it is a very easy repair, but you will need to have the front end aligned after you are done installing the rack assembly, make sure all the old fluid is flushed from the system or the new rack will fail from debris left over from the old failed rack
